"Are you so excited to see me get discharged?" He questioned, seeing how she was smiling like she had won a trophy.
She bit her lip, trying to come up with the right words to use. She and have a break from Eric's annoying behavior.
"Aren't you happy to get discharged? If you aren't, I am. At least, you can no longer treat me like you used to," she pouted.
Not only did he stress her out last night, but he also refused to answer the only thing she was curious about; his discussion with his family. She wanted to know what they possibly discussed peacefully without any of them causing trouble.
After he was done changing into the dress Madam Quinn got for him last night, he told her, "Since you insisted on always facing the wall, you could look at me now, I am done getting dressed."
"I see," she said and turned to face him. He looked different in the T-shirt and pair of jeans he was dressed in. If she were just seeing him for the first time, she would have fallen in love with him at first sight.
"Let's visit that rude doctor for the last time," reminded of that night he kissed her, she suggested.
"Okay," he replied.
Katherine assisted him in carrying his bag containing his bloodstained suit and pants. They headed towards the doctor's office.
Eric did not bother to knock before he entered the doctor's office. He sat down even before the doctor could point him to a chair.
Katherine just stood still, staring at Eric with amusement etched on her face. With the way he was behaving, anyone would think he owned this hospital.
"Mrs. Eric, why are you not sitting down?"
"Nothing… it's just that I have sat down all through the night land my waist is already aching," she lied.
The doctor returned his gaze to Eric before he asked, "How is your health now, Mr. Jaylen?"
"Quite fine. Aside from my injury which is yet to heal up, the pain is bearable," he responded genuinely.
"That is good. All you need to do is take your medications on time. Also, remember to exercise daily so as not to stiffen your body," he warned.
Eric nodded his head, a faint smile on his face before he stood up to leave. "Thank you doctor," with that, he left.
Trying to ask the same question she'd been asking, she followed him from behind.
"Honey, why won't you tell me about what you and your family were discussing?"
"That is because you are not in a position to be concerned about that. Just learn to mind your business and not meddle in mine," he replied and headed away.
They did not speak to each other until they walked up to the driver his father sent to pick them up.
"Young master Eric, your father ordered me to pick you up," before Eric had a chance to speak, the driver quickly informed him.
"I know. Where was the car packed?" He inquired with a stern look on his face, unlike the Eric that Katherine had been with in the hospital.
The driver walked them to the car. After he got to where he packed the car, Eric demanded for the key. "Give me the car key, I will be driving the car myself," he informed the driver.
"But–"
"Stay out of it, Katherine," he was quick to cut her off before he turned to face the driver. "What are you waiting for? Will you disobey me?"
The man was quick to hand him the key. He knew if Eric got angrier than he was already, he would regret ever disobeying him. Everyone in Jaylen Mansion knew Eric would never allow anyone to drive him; he would rather walk back to the mansion than allow anyone to drive him.
After he got the key, he got into the car and started the car. "Wifey, won't you join me?"
His voice made Katherine, who had been lost, jolted back to reality. She got into the car, which zoomed off afterward.
While he was driving, she tried to speak, but his hard gaze made her keep quiet. The drive from the hospital was quiet and fast. Despite his injury, he drove flawlessly.
After they arrived, they got down from the car and headed to the living room.
Their living room was magnificent, and luxurious. She wondered if this family isn't really the richest in the country. According to the country's economic ranking, they ranked as the second richest family after Crawford family.
"Welcome to the family, Katherine," Mr. Davis welcomed her warmly.
Madam Quinn stood up before she said, "Make yourself feel at home, Katherine."
"Thank you so much," she appreciated, excited at how they welcomed her warmly.
Eric, who felt as if he was invisible in the room, spoke up, grabbing their attention. "Is it only Katherine that is supposed to get a warm welcome? I can't believe you and Madam Quinn are treating me like I am invisible."
Madam Quinn walked up to him, a sly smile curved on her lips. "Eric, how is your health? Has your injury healed up?" She inquired, acting like she cared.
He smirked at her act. He never knew the woman who whispered to him that he mustn't wake up was going for this ridiculous trick.
"I am fine," he replied.
"Eric, the maids already prepared a new room for both you and your wife. I hope you enjoy your first wedding night," Mr. Davis turned his gaze to his son before he informed him.
"But this is third day after our wedding… Also, we don't need to live together," he opposed his father's idea.
Katherine joined him. "Yes, we really don't need to live in the same room."
Mr. Davis hesitated before he spoke up, "I don't care if you both want it or not, as much as you married, you are both one. Also, concerning the wedding night, I can't count the nights you spent in the hospital because I am quite sure nothing happened."
"But we kissed!" The both of them blurted out at the same time, causing Mr. Davis and Madam Quinn's eyes to widen in shock.
