Chapter 22 - ROLE OF THE BLIND (1)

Arex was quite phased by the sudden mention of resurrection.

"You really are so eager to want me to join this game." Arex reacted, which he eventually followed up by asking Grecko, "What would you do if I joined and eventually got wiped away by the blind? Your desire to make me a shikari won't even be possible anymore."

Arex made himself sound as though he wanted to put Grecko once more into a silly tricky question. He had not yet seemed to learn from earlier how Grecko managed to respond to him earlier.

It would seem that Arex was still persistent to make Grecko wrong. What Arex seemed to have not anticipate was that Grecko was always ready for any possible counter Arex has for him as though Grecko have already read through Arex's mind.

"I wouldn't be so eager to encourage to participate if I know you'd perish eventually. I mean you could ask the same question for yourself, do you even want to die in the hands of the blind? Especially when you know winning could grant you resurrection?"

At that moment, Arex pondered that Grecko was right. He wouldn't surely let the blind get him of course.

"When is this game commencing? Who are the participants?" Arex asked eventually asked soon after he had a quick and thorough thinking about it.

However, Grecko on the other hand didn't even say a word. Instead, he spread his right palm once more to reveal the black orb that manifested from the center of his palm. And from there, all those black mist sorrounding them quicky circled them in a rather swift motion as though everything around them was spinning around.

Eventually, those black mist were being absorbed by the black orb. Arex was shortly confused what was going on until eventually he noticed that what really was taking place at that particular moment was that the black mist were dispursing and being taken back by the black orb.

What just suprised Arex was that he came to witness the sorrounding also shifting. The last thing he remembered, they were still both at the high lord's garden. However, from the time that the black mist were gone, Grecko noticed that they were already inside the chamber from where Arex first encounter all the seven lords of the Black Parade together with Grecko.

"What are we even doing here?" Arex promptly asked the moment that he noticed all the other seven lords were once again seated on their specific throne-like chairs.

Grecko instantly turned his back on Arex and was approaching his seat in the middle among the seven lords. As he finally took his seat, Grecko eventually said, "We're about to begin selecting the participants for the Shikari's hunting game."

After Grecko said that, the cauldron placed at the centre of the whole chamber abruptly flared up with scorching green flames as though it was some kind of an indication that an agenda for the day had suddenly commenced.

"High lord, if this human were to compete. I'd like to volunteer to become the game's blind." Kiyo, who was rather excited to learn that there would be another event or the hunting game, couldn't help but eventually asked the high lord.

However, Halze, who was not going to let Kiyo have all the glory of completely eliminating Arex for good abruptly stood up to protest, "High lord, It would be better if the role of the blind is given to me. I am a much better candidate for this role."

While Halze and Kiyo were arguing over who would be between them and must have the role of the blind, the chaos they were doing was already so much noise and bother to the other lords inside the chamber.

Suddenly, even Merfestina began to join in the commotion. "If they think they deserve to become the blind, then, high lord, please I want to be able to prove that I could also become a perfect candidate to be a blind."

Merfestina's intrusion in the commotion only added more to the noise.

"Stay out of this Merfestina. You're too feeble to even fight an aberrant like him." Kiyo immediately remarked while pointing his fingers at Arex.

"And you think you're more befitting for the role? How narcissistic of you to even claim that? You couldn't even win up against me." Merfestina retorted back.

Halze, who had been listening to them banter at one another promptly chimed in to express his opinion. "The two of you should stop insisting your claim because only I am is the eligible enough between us three."

"Coming from someone who couldn't even defeat the aberrant, huh?" Kiyo snapped and it triggered Halze to go out in rage.

Instantaneously, he surged to attack Kiyo from the other side of their crescent formation, however, before he could even come near to Kiyo, the three of them were pushed away from where they stood by a swift green mist.

Before they knew it, the three of them were on the ground beneath Arex, who at that time was standing before them.

The three instantly stood up wondering why would the high lord instantly do that. They all recognize after witnessing the green mist that it was all Grecko's doing why they were all there.

"You three claimed to be the only eligible of being the blind? Alright, prove that to me now. If anyone among you is able to wound Arex at the least using your respective scythes, then I would eventually acknowledge you as the blind. However, if you won't be able to do it, I would severely punish the three of you for creating such a commotion here."

Realizing their mistake, the three humbly knelt down and begged for Grecko's forgiveness. All of them begged Grecko and promised not to interfere with his decision regarding the shikari's hunting game.

Suddenly, Grecko eventually crossed his legs and rested his right chin on his knuckles, a clear sign he was getting rather bored before he eventually said, "Very well, if you three couldn't do it. I'd like to assign the role of being the blind to Roxina West then." and this left everyone in shocked and at the same disappointment as they all laid their eyes on Roxina.
