Chereads / Jinnx Hunter / Chapter 5 - BLUE FLAME

Chapter 5 - BLUE FLAME

The mysterious woman let out a piercing cry, consumed by the anguish brought on by the abrupt change in her circumstances. She couldn't believe that a simple Jinnx had managed to outsmart her so quickly.

This would be the very first time that someone like her would actually experience the humiliation of actually getting ousted by a mere Jinnx.

Another observation that the mysterious woman noticed was the odd appearance of the Jinnx. It was different than the usual, it's an aberrant form of Jinnx.

In contrast to the typical evolved Jinnx with its two horns and smoke tail resembling a genie, the Jinnx that emerged from Arex had a distinct appearance, sporting an armored skull mask and a pair of legs. This particular Jinnx stands out with its waist-length, dull red hair, a unique feature among its kind.

It seemed as though it had transformed into a human Jinnx. Oddly enough, this unusual creature displayed remarkable intelligence in contrast to the typical Jinnx, foreseeing the impending assault from the mysterious woman.

"I won't allow you to humiliate me!" the woman exclaimed, fighting to free herself from the grasp of the Jinnx.

To her astonishment, the Jinnx possessed an unimaginable strength that left her completely surprised. This particular one seemed quite different from the other Jinnx she had come across previously.

Getting the Jinnx off of her would definitely be a challenge at this point. She came to the realization that exerting too much energy would be futile if she tried to resist, as the Jinnx had the power to easily overcome her efforts.

Out of nowhere, the Jinnx let out a deafening shriek right in front of the enigmatic woman's face. The noise was so overwhelming that the enigmatic woman had to bear it until the Jinnx was finished.

Afterwards, the woman was completely determined to expand every ounce of her remaining strength in order to liberate herself. With a strategic plan in mind, the woman deftly maneuvers herself between the Jinnx's legs and swiftly seized hold of its lower limbs.

With a firm hold on the Jinnx's legs, the woman seized the opportunity to exert all her remaining strength and swiftly launched the Jinnx away from her.

Her strategy worked and she managed to quickly escape from that situation. The enigmatic woman seized the opportunity and swiftly regained her footing, making a beeline for the scythe that had been flung a meter from her.

As the Jinnx let out a furious scream, it was clear that it was about to give chase. However, the woman proved to be skilled enough to reclaim the scythe.

"Activating Wisteria!" Her piercing scream filled the air as her trembling hands made contact with the ominous scythe.

With a single command, the scythe emitted a brilliant light and a powerful force that reverberated against the Jinnx. The Jinnx was swiftly thrown aside, protecting the enigmatic woman from any potential harm.

"I won't let you get away this time, Jinnx. Try and get me this time, and I will surely kill you!" She bravely uttered before the Jinnx.

This time, the mysterious woman was willing to bet her life just to defeat this aberrant Jinnx. She couldn't possibly go home empty handed. It was part of her mission to exterminate every single one among her list, even at the expense of her life.

"Now I'm beginning to understand why those morons didn't argue when this task was assigned to me. They are reluctant to engage in dirty work. Well, after I defeat this Jinnx, i'll kick every single one of them for sure." she even added before she made her first assault against the Jinnx.

With unwavering determination, she declared her intention to triumph over the Jinnx, vowing to strike them down one by one. Her resolve was evident as she prepared to launch her initial attack.

The mysterious woman swiftly leaps above the Jinnx's head. It was swift and the Jinnx followed the motion of the swift spark that the mysterious woman did.

The Jinnx failed to realize that it was merely an illusion. The enigmatic woman effortlessly wielded her scythe, conjuring a cascade of radiant illusions that distracts the attention of the Jinnx. With an almost ethereal grace, she descended silently to the ground without notice.

And with precision and agility, the woman swiftly closed in on the Jinnx, abruptly striking her scythe against the formidable skull mask of her opponent. The scythe's blade effortlessly pierced the mask, cutting it wide open.

The woman thought that the mask might be acting as a protective barrier for the Jinnx, giving it the appearance of strength. Yet, the woman placed her faith in the notion that her scythe had the power to cut through it, and indeed it did.

However, much to the woman's surprise, everything didn't end there. The woman was taken aback, her eyes widening in surprise as she beheld the visage of the Jinnx.

"How in the world does this even happen?" she remarked, taken aback by the fact that the Jinnx actually had Arex's face.

The woman was astounded by the incredible sight unfolding in front of her. She moved a bit closer to confirm that she wasn't becoming perplexed by what she was witnessing.

"How did you come to possess the face of that boy?" Curiosity tugged at her, even though she was well aware that the Jinnx would remain silent.

There was not even a single event before her that a Jinnx was able to communicate. Although this one happened to be an aberrant, it still failed to have the ability to communicate.

The mysterious woman was taken aback by the unexpected sight of the Jinnx still bearing Arex's face. She was aware that most accounts state that Jinnx often resemble each other after the transformation. Yet, this time presented a stark contrast to her previous studies and observations.

The Jinnx bore a striking resemblance to Arex, though its complexion was tinged with a deep, dark hue. It was quite peculiar that the Jinnx possessed eyes of both red and blue hues. It was as though there seemed to be two distinct beings inhabiting the same physical form.

"I don't care whether you look like that boy, you're still a Jinnx and I must kill you." declared the enigmatic woman, launching into her relentless attack.

The ensuing events unfolded as a relentless onslaught launched by the woman in her quest to seize control of the Jinnx. Yet, no matter how hard she tried, it seemed like the Jinnx always managed to effortlessly dodge each of her strikes.

Gradually, the woman started to feel tired. Meanwhile, her arsenal of strategies to combat the Jinnx was dwindling.

"Damn. This isn't good." the mysterious woman mumbled. "It has actually memorized most of my attacks. Now it's becoming increasingly difficult for me to overcome this nuisance!" After exerting herself, she gently brushed away the perspiration from her brow and regained her composure.

The woman's breath quickened, her desperate gasps for air betraying her exhaustion. She could already sense her heart racing, a result of the tremendous effort she had put forth, leaving her feeling fatigued.

Meanwhile, she felt a mix of frustration and surprise as she watched the persistent Jinnx stand its ground, seemingly unfazed by her relentless attacks.

At this point, the mysterious woman could already feel as though this would be the end for her.

She let out a sarcastic chuckle, "I can't believe I would let a Jinnx like you end my life like this." Her words, filled with desperation, escaped in between labored breaths.

Consumed by the impending threat of her impending doom, she still yearned to continue the battle. However, she was acutely aware of her own limitations. If she ventured any farther, it could potentially cost her life.

"I'd rather meet my end right here than allow you to bring ruin upon this world!" The woman cried out. "Last chance, wisteria. Give me this one last chance to prove myself worthy of having my esteemed rank in the black parade!"

She then tightened her hold on the scythe. As she was consumed by the looming sense of loss, she clutched tightly to the scythe in her hands as a sign of her bravery. She treats the moment as though it was her final moment, and the reason she was already calling out to her weapon.

As soon as the mysterious woman was done, she once more stood her ground and firmly yelled, "Activating Wisteria!"

As she tapped into the hidden potential of her weapon, a surge of incredible power coursed through the woman, enveloping her in its awe-inspiring embrace. It seemed determined to convey that the scythe was filled with anger as well and that it was also prepared to battle until the very end.

After getting that sign from the scythe, the mysterious woman eventually went ahead and launched her final attack. She was no longer anticipating what would happen next, all that was in her mind right now was to give the aberrant Jinnx a fatal blow.

The woman let out a piercing cry as she unleashed a powerful strike with her scythe, aimed directly at the peculiar Jinnx who stood motionless before her. It shortly gave the mysterious woman some confusion as to why it didn't even try to evade her attack.

She finally understood what was happening when, just as her scythe was about to strike the strange Jinnx, it emitted a burst of blue flames. It seemed to be a protective shield, stopping her scythe from penetrating.

"What?!" The woman was ostracized. She couldn't believe her eyes as she witnessed the extraordinary event.

All of a sudden, the strange Jinnx vanished, leaving the woman bewildered as to its whereabouts. But in an instant, the peculiar Jinnx reappeared right beside her, as if it had deliberately chosen to be closer to her ear.

The woman was taken aback, unable to fathom why the peculiar Jinnx was standing by her side, uttering words she never thought a Jinnx could speak: "Too weak," as if taunting her.

After that, the jinnx swiftly delivered a powerful blow to the enigmatic woman's abdomen, resulting in her coughing up blood and rendering her unable to move on the ground.

The unusual Jinnx quickly grabbed her scythe and hurriedly escaped to where the group of troublemaking teenagers—who had been pursuing Arex before—were gathered, observing the sudden appearance of the Jinnx.

What unfolded next was the very thing that sent shivers down the mysterious woman's spine. The unusual Jinnx wielded her scythe, Wisteria, to eliminate all of those young individuals. No one managed to escape the wrath of the aberrant Jinnx, no matter how desperately they tried to flee.

The woman witnessed it all, feeling utterly powerless to contain the unruly chaos unleashed by the Jinnx.

She felt responsible for her inability to prevent the Jinnx from causing chaos in this world. The woman found the formidable Jinnx to be overpowering.

Burdened by self-blame, the woman yearned for greater strength, believing it would make vanquishing Jinnx a more attainable feat.

In an instant, not a single soul was spared from those troublemakers who had been observing before. They perished at the mercy of that unusual Jinnx utilizing Wisteria.

The woman couldn't hold back her tears as she witnessed her beloved scythe being wielded by a Jinnx to take the lives of the innocent.

Not too far away, there was another group of people who stood frozen, terrified by the impending massacre caused by the Jinnx. The woman felt an urgent desire to warn them to flee, yet she understood the futility of her efforts, as these mortals remained oblivious to her presence.

She was filled with apprehension, dreading the arrival of the Jinnx. To her astonishment, the Jinnx approached her and dropped the scythe at her feet, as if signaling that its task was complete.

Out of nowhere, the woman had a sudden recollection of Arex's plea to grant him just five minutes after the mutation to eliminate those teenagers who were after him and his grandfather.

It was quite unusual for something like this to occur, considering the possibility that Arex may have already been consumed entirely by the Jinnx. However, the woman couldn't help but be intrigued by the Jinnx's uncanny ability to transform into a human, adopting Arex's appearance and even engaging in communication with her.

Despite everything, the unusual Jinnx didn't even take her life when he had the opportunity.

It seemed as if his actions were merely a delay tactic to keep the woman from interfering with his intentions. Something that Arex may have possibly done if he were still able to control the Jinnx.

"Impossible," the woman couldn't help but utter.

The unusual Jinnx emitted a shrill cry, facing the enigmatic woman.

After the Jinnx let out a loud scream, a bolt of lightning struck it, forcing it to be restrained in its position.

"Activating Hellstia!" A male voice suddenly entered the scene, accompanied by a mysterious mist that enveloped the Jinnx's eyes, leaving it unable to see.

Following that, a different male voice, resonating with a rich timbre, exclaimed, "Activating, Valir!" This was swiftly succeeded by a cascade of crimson fire that ensnared the otherworldly Jinns. It tightly gripped its wrist and ankle, keeping it from getting away.

The woman immediately identified the voices. "Those are the scythes of Lord Kiyo and Lord Valkas," she said. As she expected, the Lords emerged from the thick smoke conjured by Lord Kiyo.

"My, my, Lady Roxina. You had but one task, and you allowed it to go wrong." Kiyo greeted the woman—whom he referred to as Roxina—in such a sarcastic manner.

While Kiyo's statement may hold some truth, Roxina found it unbearable to listen to Kiyo or the other Lords ridicule her in such a manner.

"Keep your attention on the task at hand, Lord Kiyo." Valkas finds himself in a desperate struggle to tame the fiery rope that stubbornly clings to the unruly Jinnx.

"Of course, Lord Valkas. Apologies." Kiyo finally responded before he went back to using his scythe's dark mist to blind the strange Jinnx.

Roxina admired Valkas for not mocking her, unlike Kiyo. The other lords held Valkas in high regard and trusted him to be fair in all of his dealings because they recognized him as a natural leader, next to their high lord.

Out of nowhere, a mysterious ring with a vibrant jade color materialized in the sky, casting a radiant beam of light onto the aberrant Jinnx.

A brilliant jade light pierced through the ground, heralding the arrival of their leader, the grand necromancer named Grecko.

"Hmnn...what do we have here?" Grecko's gentle voice chimed in the air as he made an entrance behind Roxina.

All eyes were fixed on the towering figure with his short and wavy tousled fringes of vibrant dark emerald. He seemed to glide towards the group, capturing their attention. Despite the dark piece of cloth serving as a blindfold covering his eyes, he possessed an uncanny ability to perceive his surroundings with remarkable clarity.

Grecko held a small black orb in his right hand as he approached the peculiar Jinnx.

"Please exercise caution, our high lord. This particular Jinnx is aberrant. Be cautious, as it's quite strong, and that could potentially cause you harm." Kiyo warned Grecko, urging him to be careful.

Yet Grecko couldn't help but smirk in response to Kiyo. "It's not powerful enough," he responded, shifting his posture closer to the Jinnx and swiftly turning the orb he was holding into a sleek, obsidian blade.

"By the way, it was a nice meeting you." Grecko whispered to the Jinnx with a hint of sarcasm. Grecko taunted the unusual Jinnx before driving his sword into the creature's heart.
