Chapter 42 - Chapter 42

After finishing their meal, Adrien and Anya exited the restaurant, they both entered the car and left the restaurant.

Minutes later the car finally stopped at a building. "We're here," he said with a smile, getting down from the car, Anya also getting down.

Anya's curiosity piqued, she followed him into the building and up a short flight of stairs. They stopped at a door adorned with a small plaque bearing her name.

Adrien produced a key, unlocked the door, and swept it open, revealing the cozy apartment within.

"Welcome home," he said, his eyes shining with warmth. Anya's heart swelled as she stepped inside, feeling a sense of belonging wash over her.

As she entered the apartment, Anya's eyes widened in surprise because she wasn't expecting Tamara to give her an apartment. She was already planning on booking an hotel for her to stay till she is able to get an apartment for herself.

The space was tastefully furnished, with a plush sofa, a small dining table, and a kitchenette that gleamed with new appliances. The walls were adorned with vibrant artwork, and a large window allowed natural light to pour in.

Adrien showed her around, pointing out the bedroom, the bathroom, and a small study nook. Anya couldn't believe the thoughtful touches, the sense of care that had gone into creating this haven.

She turned to Adrien, her voice filled with emotion. "Ma'am did this for me?" she asked, her eyes brimming with tears. Adrien nodded, his smile gentle.

"She wanted you to feel at home, to have a place to settle in after your journey." Anya heart swelled with gratitude, feeling seen and cared for in a way she never had before.

As Adrien prepared to leave, the sky outside suddenly darkened, and raindrops began to fall. Anya glanced out the window, then back at him. "You can't go out in this," she said, her voice soft with concern.

"Stay for the night." Adrien hesitated, then nodded, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "If you're sure it's okay," he said, his voice low and gentle. Anya smiled, her heart skipping a beat. "Of course it's okay," she replied, gesturing to the cozy apartment.

"We can have a night in, just the two of us." And with that, she headed to the kitchen to check if she could find something for them to eat because it was already late and she can't order food because of the storm.

Any opened the kitchen cabinets, expecting to find them empty. But to her surprise, she found a stash of food staples: noodles, spices, and seasonings.

Her eyes widened as she spotted the ramen packets. "Ah, jackpot!" she exclaimed, her stomach growling with anticipation. She quickly boiled water, added the noodles and seasoning, and waited for the magic to happen.

As the aroma of savory broth filled the air, Adrien appeared in the kitchen, his eyes curious. "Something smells amazing in here," he said, his stomach growling in harmony with hers.

Anya smiled, her eyes sparkling. "Ramen night, courtesy of Tamara's fully stocked kitchen!" They sat down to enjoy their impromptu meal.

After dinner, they lingered at the table, savoring the warmth of the moment. Anya gazed at Adrien l, his eyes sparkling in the soft light.

"Thank you for tonight," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. Adrien's smile was gentle, his voice low and soothing. "I'm grateful for this night, too."

As they sat there, the silence between them was comfortable, a sense of connection and understanding palpable. Without a word, Adrien reached out, his hand brushing against hers.

Anya's heart skipped a beat as she felt a spark of electricity. She looked down at their entwined hands, a sense of wonder washing over her. And in that moment, they both knew that this night, this connection, was something special.
