Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Surprising News 1

As the sun rises in the east, sunlight streams across the sky and gently lands on Luminous Mansion, causing it to light up with multiple colours. Inside the manor, however, was way different.

The main bedroom was lit in a dark blue colour, which looked very similar to the deep blue ocean. From time to time, streaks of light blue colours would ripple on the original colour. Adding a calming yet also trance-like effect.

"Yawn"

Eric's lets out a yawn as he wakes up from sleep. His body was no longer in a human form but that of a slime.

Slowly, two pairs of eyes start appearing on his slime body, followed by two legs and arms... Finally, all his body parts were where they belonged.

Stretching his arms upwards, he says. "What a good night's sleep; hopefully today I can find out how to increase my skill level."

'Knock, knock, knock'

After he spoke, a knock was heard on the door. Not surprised by this, he responded tiredly while rubbing his eyes. "Come in"

With the end of his voice, the door opens, and two maids enter. Both had long silver hair, bright blue eyes, and looked to be about the same size. Their facial features also looked the same; no, everything, for that matter, looked the exact same. They wore a cold expression on their emotionless faces, and if one did not know they were humans, some would suspect they were cyborgs or emotionless puppets.

Looking at them, Eric helplessly held onto his head. I truly don't want to be drowned in water again.

Not caring about their prince's troubles, they walk forward, slowly approaching the massive bed.

Looking at them approaching him, Eric was about to speak, but when he remembered what happened last time, he still managed to hold himself back from speaking and swallow his words.

With a helpless expression on his face, he throws his hand forward as if surrendering himself to the authorities.

"Just take me."

10 minutes later, in the bathroom, Eric sits in a large bathtub, surrounded by two identical twins who are bathing him.

Eric, feeling wronged, looks aggrievedly towards them with tearing blue eyes.

Having gone through this every day for 8 years now, one would think he has gotten past his fear of being afraid of bathing. And yes, he has gotten past it, but these two are simply inhumane when it comes to hygiene.

With two big scrubbers, which I think it is called. They stretch and deform his body as if he were some sort of bathroom experiment.

Water, all over the ground, foamy soap everywhere in the room, obscuring anyone's vision that enters. Rather than this being done to keep me clean, it's more like it's only done to make a mess.

Luckily, we have someone to clean this up. If not, I'm sure if someone from Earth stepped into this bathroom, they would think something else was going on in here.

As Eric was enduring the terrible pain of their scrubbing. Two cold voices sounded in each of his ears as the scrubbing stopped. "Happy birthday, Prince Eric."

Listening to this, his eyes became even more teary. From evil demons to gently yet cold angels. Oh, why, oh why, do they do this to me? But before he could even thank them, the scrubbing continued, causing a blue-coloured tear to fall from his face.

I knew they could never be angels without doing something bad.

With a tearful face, he spends the rest of his abnormally long 25 minutes in the bathroom.

.....

After exactly 25 minutes, Eric, dressed in a bathrobe, exited the bathroom with trembling legs. Next to him, the twins can be seen whispering to one another. As for what they were whispering about, well, only they know.

Ignoring them, he slowly walks towards the other silver-haired maid waiting in the hallway.

Ah, finally, no more scrubbing from now on.

Reaching the silver-haired maid, he falls tiredly into her arms.

"Maid Lilith, you're a lifesaver, you know that." He spoke softly in joy while resting his head on her chest.

Not embarrassed by this, Lilith smiles. Having known Prince Eric for eight years, of course she knows how much he hates bathing with the twins.

Turning towards the twin maids, she helplessly asks. "Sindy and Sally, do you have to work the Prince so hard even on his birthday?"

"Our job is to properly bathe the Prince." They replied in unison.

"Sigh, whatever." Picking Eric up, Lilith walks away towards the dressing room at the end of the hallway.

"Hopefully you didn't suffer much this time, Prince." She spoke softly as she looked at Eric's sleepy face in her arms.

Arriving in front of the dressing room, she opens the door and enters.

After a full hour of Eric being passed around by maids one after another, it finally stops.

Sitting on a couch in the living room with a tired expression, Eric yawned. "Maid Sylvia."

Standing next to him, Sylvia answers. "Yes, Prince Eric."

"I need some energy; can you ask the chef to make me some ice cream?" He said tiredly.

"Umm, Prince, Chef Judy was granted leave yesterday, so.." Sylvia said with a hint of embarrassment.

Being reminded made Eric remember that he did grant chef leave. "Oh, now what am I going to do in such hot weather."

Although being half slime has many advantages, such as being cold resistant, blending easily into the environment, and many others, there's also disadvantages, like my natural weakness being heat. So in sunny weather such as today, I'll always feel extra tired. Luckily, I noticed this problem earlier in my life and, after long research, eventually found a method to deal with it.

Which is ice, as long as I intake ice into my body. I can stay cool, thus nullifying the effect of the heat caused by the sun.

As for how this works, it is pretty simple, actually. Using my so-called skill cold resistance, I can resist most cold environments and objects.

So when my stomach or body acid tries to digest anything cold, my skill cold resistance comes into play and negates it, but because it does not resist all colds completely, the ice breaks down, but it takes longer than usual.

So although I'm not afraid of the cold, if it becomes extremely cold, even I wouldn't be able to resist.
