I woke up in an unfamiliar room, my head heavy with confusion. I instinctively held my stomach, half-expecting the searing pain to return. But it didn't. I glanced down at myself, noticing that my clothes had been changed, and my body felt clean as if I had taken a shower.
I sat up slowly, trying to make sense of everything. Was it all a nightmare? Before I could stand, a low growl echoed through the room. My heart raced as I looked up to see Dante standing in the doorway, his eyes dark and stormy.
Tears welled up in my eyes. "Dante!" I cried, reaching out to him, wanting to find solace in his arms. But instead of a hug, his hand connected with my cheek in a sharp slap. The sting of it reverberated through my entire being, leaving me stunned and silent.
He looked at me, his expression a mixture of anger and something else I couldn't quite place. "You're being taken to the other island dungeon," he said coldly. "You'll be sentenced to life imprisonment."
