Chapter 3 - Where am I?

Madison's POV

As I slowly opened my eyes, the bright morning sunlight streamed through the curtains, piercing through my pounding headache. Blinking a few times, I realized I was lying on a luxurious king-sized bed and this wasn't my room but something felt off. I instinctively reached for the covers, only to realize that I was completely naked. Panic started to creep in as I struggled to recall the events of the previous night. Memories were hazy and fragmented, like shattered pieces of a puzzle that refused to come together.

I sat up gingerly, my head spinning as I surveyed the unfamiliar room. The walls were adorned with abstract paintings, and the furniture exuded an air of opulence. It was clear that I wasn't in my own home, but whose place was this? And how did I end up here?

The room itself was pristine, with no signs of a wild party or any other people. I glanced around, searching for any clues that could help me piece together the puzzle. My mind raced, desperately trying to recall anything that would shed light on my current situation. But the memories remained frustratingly elusive, locked away in the depths of my alcohol-addled brain.

Feeling a mix of confusion and unease, I swung my legs over the side of the bed and gingerly stood up. The cold wooden floor sent a shiver up my spine, but it helped to ground me in the reality of the moment. I took a deep breath, attempting to steady myself and push away the remnants of the lingering hangover.

As I made my way across the room, I noticed a small table with a note on it. With a glimmer of hope, I approached it and picked up the piece of paper. The handwriting was unfamiliar, but it carried a sense of urgency.

The note read, "Had a great time last night. Sorry I had to leave early"

"Who could this be?"

"Who did I spend the night with?" I squart, pulled my hair out and screamed out in frustration.

The room telephone rang, I picked it up

"Hello good morning, please would you like to check out or renew your payment?" The person on the other side of the phone asked.

"Check out, of course I would like to check out" I replied before I entered the call.

As I hastily put on my clothes, my mind raced with a mixture of confusion and anxiety.

"Who did I spend the night with?"

took a moment to gather my thoughts ,I decided to head to the front desk to inquire about the room and any additional details they could provide.

As I made my way out of the unfamiliar room, the hallway stretched before me, lined with elegant doors leading to other accommodations. The silence enveloped me.

Reaching the front desk, I approached the receptionist with a polite but anxious expression.

"Excuse me," I said, my voice quivering slightly.

"I woke up in one of your rooms, but I have no memory of how I got here. Can you please help me understand what happened?" I asked the receptionist politely.

The receptionist looked at me with a mixture of concern and professionalism.

"I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling disoriented. Let me check our records and see if I can assist you."

I waited nervously as the receptionist typed away on the computer, searching for any information that could shed light on my situation. After a few moments, she looked up at me, a slight furrow in their brow.

"I'm afraid I don't have any specific details on how you arrived or who you were with," the receptionist explained.

"It seems that you checked in alone, and there's no additional information about any guests or events associated with your stay and you paid with the company card," the receptionist read the log with confusion written all over her face.

"I paid with the company credit card?"

I was waiting for her answer when she suddenly said, "yes sir," over her headphones.

"Is there anything else I can help you with?" Disappointment washed over me as she brushed my question.

I knew she was following instructions so I thanked the receptionist for her assistance and walked away, my mind still clouded with thought, I just wanted to know the man with whom I had sex with.

I looked at my phone for the first time since morning and saw so many missed calls and voice messages from my friends, more especially from my bestie Violet. I just stopped a cab to take me home.

I entered our apartment, I found Violet anxiously pacing back and forth in the living room. The moment she spotted me, her face lit up with relief, and she rushed over to give you a tight hug.

"Oh, thank goodness you're safe!" Violet exclaimed, her voice filled with genuine concern.

"I've been so worried about you. What happened? Where did you disappear to last night?". I sighed, feeling a mix of gratitude and frustration.

"Violet, I wish I knew. I woke up naked in a room in that bar we went to yesterday, completely disoriented. I have no memory of how I got there but I knew I had a good time." Violet's expression turned serious as she listened intently.

"You are saying, you had sex with a stranger?" Violet asked with confusion written all over her face.

"Yep, that was it" I walked towards the kitchen to get water.

"You were having a good time While the rest of us were worried sick about you."Violet raised her voice slightly.

"It wasn't like that,I was drunk" tears filled my eyes.

"Madi, no don't cry, this isn't the time to cry, I didn't mean it that way" Violet hugged me, wiping the tears off my eyes.

"Madi, you had sex with a stranger last night" Violet asked with concern laced in her voice.

"Yes" I lifted my head a bit to see her eyes.

"Did you use condoms?" She raised her eyebrows.

"Hmmm" I was also in a state of confusion

"Madi, did you?" She asked okay

"I don't know," I lowered my gaze and said shyly.

"what do you mean you don't know?" Violet whispered yell.

"I don't think so," I replied to her question.

"Get ready, hospital now, I will be waiting in the car" Violet said, she stood, picked up the car key, she went straight to the car outside.

In a state of urgency and concern, I quickly followed Violet's instructions. I rushed to my room, hastily took a shower, and dressed as fast as I could. My mind raced with worry, realizing the potential risks of not using protection during my encounter with the stranger.

Immediately I got ready without wasting any Time, I met Violet in the car, where she was waiting anxiously. The tension in the air was palpable as we both drove to the nearest hospital.

Silence filled the car, each passing second adding to the weight of uncertainty. While driving she gave her hand a little squeeze reassuring me everything will be okay.

Arriving at the hospital, we both hurriedly made our way to the reception desk. Violet explained the situation to the staff, emphasizing the need for urgent medical attention.

The receptionist directed us to the appropriate department, where healthcare professionals could provide the necessary guidance and support.

In the examination room, a doctor carefully listened to my situation, offering reassurance and empathy.

They conducted a series of tests to check for any potential risks or infections. Throughout the process, Violet stood by my side, holding your hand, offering comfort in an otherwise distressing situation.

After the test we were asked to wait in the waiting room, I was impatiently awaiting the doctor's result.when I heard my name

"Madison Harper Santiago." I stood up signifying I was there, I followed the doctor to his office where he gave me the prescription and said everything was fine. I thanked him and left his voice.

I went to the parking lot. As I entered the car with Violet, a sense of relief washed over me upon receiving the doctor's assurance that everything was fine.

"How was it? I mean the test results" Violet asked

With a smile, I informed Violet the test results came back clear, alleviating some of the anxiety that had been weighing on my mind.

Violet, visibly relieved, returned my smile.

"I'm so glad to hear that, Madi. It's such a relief. Now that we have some peace of mind, let's take a break from all the worries and have some fun."

I agreed wholeheartedly, realizing the importance of enjoying the present moment. Violet suggested going to a nearby shopping mall, and I welcomed the idea, eager for a change of scenery and a chance to take my mind off recent events.

As we arrived at the mall, we strolled through the bustling corridors, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere. The two of us explored various stores, trying on different outfits, and sharing moments of laughter and lightheartedness. It was a much-needed respite from the uncertainties and concerns that had consumed my thoughts.

After a few hours of shopping, we both decided to take a break and grab a bite to eat. As we sat at a cozy café, enjoying a delicious meal and gossip about the people passing by.

"What?" Violet raised her eyebrows.

"nothing am just grateful for you," I smiled.

"oooo common," Violet pushed my arm lightly.

"I love you," I winked playfully.

"I love you more" she said as she pecked my hands smiling.

On that day, I took a series of tests and drugs but forgot to take one important drug. A CONTRACEPTIVE or A PLAN B.
