Yuta was happy to spend time with Ace, but if he knew that this was gonna happen then he wouldn't have taken his offer, no matter how hungry he was.
"Sir, is your friend okay ?" someone asked.
"Friend? Sorry you have a misunderstanding, I don't know that man."
"Ah? But weren't you two were talking just a little while ago ?"
"You are mistaken, I have never met that man in my life."
"Oh, hmm okay."
The owner of the restaurant was both worried and anxious right now. It wasn't his fault, what would you do when during eating the customer suddenly fell face first at the food he was eating?
Even Yuta was worried and when upon shaking Ace few times, he didn't wake up, he immediately took out his manga, to read more. Find anything available about Ace to know why suddenly Ace fell unconscious.
He long would have grabbed the shop owner by his collar and excused him for selling poisoned food if he hadn't seen a scene very similar to this in the Manga.
"Ace this bastard, is this the time or place to fall asleep?" Yuta was super embarrassed now.
People were looking at him like an idiot now. But what else he can do, just wait until Ace wakes up or….
Suddenly the door opened a a while hair man with two cigars in his mouth walked in with a scary-looking face.
This was Smoker alright, and Yuta wasn't surprised about this, in his haze he quickly went through the manga, until he found a scene where Ace was in Alabasta and found the same thing happening as it happening right now. For good measure, he read a little further to know what happened with Ace as he was worried. So he knew that Ace had just fallen asleep and Smoker after entered the same restaurant later.
That was when he basically stopped. Returning back to his food, ignorant the stupid idiot who fell asleep and had his entire face buried in the place of rice while pretending to not know him.
As for Smoker and what happened after that. He couldn't care any less. It was Ace's problem and not his, and if things came to shove then he could just show the pirate world that he is not a pushover.
Right now eating was his first priority, even over knowing the manga.
"The second team commander of the white beard pirate, Fire Fist Ace…" Smoker said as he glared at the sleeping boy.
'Shouldn't he be waking up by now,' Yuta wondered why he wasn't wake already. If he remains asleep then it won't even take Blackbeard for him to have a way ticket to Impel down.
"Oi stopped acting, I know you are Fire Fist Ace, you can't avoid me if you pretend like you are sleeping." Smoke said while still calm, though anyone could tell that he was ready to fight if it came down to it.
Grumbling under his breath, Yuta turns to Smoker.
"Are you talking about him ?" Yuta pointed at Ace while still chewing on to his food.
Smoker just grunted while analysing Yuta, he couldn't figure out who the boy was, for him Yuta was only a 16 years kid so it wasn't much.
"Well then sorry to say to you but he is really asleep. He ain't acting." Yuta sighed as poked Ace's side with his finger…
"See…"
Smoker looks at Ace, and by no means does he look like he is sleeping, who sleeps while their face is buried half on rice. He clearly is either dead which unlikely or he is hiding his face from him.
Grunting he just spoke this. " I will figure that out."
Saying this he walks up to Ace and tugs on him, only to see the boy to be snoring and his snorts getting mixed in with the food.
Yuta who had his mouth full of rice suddenly felt repulsed and blocked his mouth before he spit out everything on top of Smoker.
Even Smoker looked disgusted. But this was his job and he had seen more disgusting things in the sea, so this was nothing.
Before taking Ace away, he turned to me and asked.
"Who are you, are you with him ?"
'Do you really think a Pirate will tell you honestly if you ask nicely ?' Yuta's eyes twitch.
"Well he did offer me food but besides that, I don't know the man," Yuta replied honestly. He was sure that Ace could handle himself against someone like Smoker at least.
Smoker seemed to think about something and then nodded, he couldn't act just becuase he was suspicious of the other party after all. The boy doesn't have a bounty on his head so he can't just arrest him.
However, just as he was about to take Ace away, a hand grabbed his own.
"I understand you are doing your job and all but I can't let you take him away like this," Yuta said with his eyes narrowed, glaring right at Smoker's eyes.
The Smoker knew that something was off…
"Did you hear me, he offered the food, I have no money to pay. Wake him up first and let him pay. Then do whatever you want with him."
A smoker who was ready to throw down almost coughed with blood at this, what kind of reason is that?
But besides that there was something else, he could feel that the boy was strong. There was something which was telling him, maybe it was instincts but he could tell that he was strong.
He glanced at his own hand, looking at how the boy was holding onto his hand effortlessly, he thought something and then grunted.
"I will pay for your food, let go." Smoker said and to his amazement, the boy really let go. He earlier thought that the boy was just making excuses, maybe it was with Fire Fist Ace but due to seeing Navy he was nervous or just wasn't strong enough to break free unless he woke up Ace.
But maybe he was just overthinking it.
"Sure, it's not much…Mr, how much for the food take the bill from this gentleman." Yuta too was shameless, he returned back to eating after saying this to even Smoker's amazement.
"Kids this day…
"Did you say something ?"
"Nothing…"
Smoker with a little irritation took out some Beli, the food was cheap enough that he didn't mind much and now was ready to take Ace away but just as he was about to do that, he felt something, though he didn't have Observation Haki or anything but he felt danger.
And sure enough, the second something stuck him, sending him flying, breaking the restaurant wall…
"Now What ?…
