After running for a while, they cut off the men chasing them. They hid behind a large rock and stayed silent while observing the movements.
Eve looked at the man with her and thought it was time to ask what had been on her mind the last few minutes.
"Who are you?" she finally asked. "Why are you helping me? Did someone…send you?"
The masked man lowered his eyes and turned the side of his face, but he moved his head back to the front.
"Do you…know me?" Eve asked again and moved her head a bit to look at him. It felt strange because she could tell the person was familiar, even though his face was covered.
After a few seconds of silence, the man finally said, "Were you really going to leave, even after everything you said?"
"Huh?" Eve raised her eyes immediately and she saw him put his hand behind his head to untie the cloth. The cloth slowly slid down his face and she blinked immediately as her eyes widen even more in surprise.
