As he fell back to the ground from the sky awaiting his final death break, someone caught him in the air trying to maintain their balance as they battled against the gravitational force pulling them.
"Fuck!" He groaned as he realized they might fall into the earth horrendously which will serve as a fatal death to them both if he didn't maintain a good falling balance.
After a rollercoaster of falling, he finally regained his balance by pulling the bracket against gravitational force but he couldn't keep them both in the air. That alone was enough and he balanced himself onto the ground gently laying the one he had grabbed down to the sandy ground.
"You fool!" He cursed. "Why would you think of doing that? You really wanna lose your life that bad? Do you not have someone to save in your world? Did you not come here to get an antidote for them."
"I'm fine…" the latter managed to say but he got stopped as he spewed some dark blood from his mouth.
"It looks like you have been poisoned…that is the only plausible answer to why your blood has suddenly changed."
"I'm really fine…poisoned or not…" he coughs out blood again then wipes his mouth. "...I will be fine."
"You bastard! You are dying right now! You just pushed yourself into the face of death when no one asked you to!"
"At least one of us will get the antidote. You can save him for me…I have faith in you."
"Oh, shut up, Chainy! I don't even know where your clan is." Ashton fired at him gently touching his face to wipe a stray tear that had managed to escape from Chainy's eyes.
The tear Chainy's eyes had shed out was far more distinct from the normal tear Ashton was accustomed to. One thing was sure, and that is, Chainy's tears can be sold in his own world for money. The tear was made up of composed crystal which shone brightly like the stars in a night sky and they had a solid grip on the hand.
"Why did you take the fall for me you dummy?" Ashton asked again as he watched Chainy groan in pain.
"Because I know I am the only one who can survive that attack…I don't know why you are still underestimating me. Is it because I do not possess any elemental ability?" Chainy said back with a wobbly smile creeping on his lips.
The loud screech of the archaeopteryx halfling–Vinn was heard in the sky above them but Ashton wasn't bothered at that moment. It was after he heard that sound he realized he was actually in control of his body again.
'How did I manage to pull myself out from Callista's sub-consciousness?' He asked himself, dazed by the new revelation that had just dawned on him.
'Callista?' He called her in his mind but she didn't give him any response. 'Fuck! What is happening?'
*CHIME!*
His system began to materialize a dashboard to him.
[You have a pending quest to complete]
[Do you want to give up on this quest and forfeit all rewards?]
[Yes] [No]
"Chainy," Ashton called, now turning his attention back to the boy. The sharp blades that had pierced through his skin perched like dragon armor against his body and pulling them out would definitely fasten up his death.
He continued,
"You have to stay alive till I come back, okay?"
*CHIME!*
[Incoming]
[There is an incoming attack dashing towards you]
[Close proximity +689]
Ashton looked up in an instant and he could see the mammoth halfling dashing towards where he and Chainy were. The halfling had no ounce of mercy in its charging eyes and it looked like a bull as it charged further towards them.
"I bet I'd be dead the moment you step away." Chainy laughed then winced his eyes in pain as he did.
"Shut your mouth, you fucker! Do you not have any better wish for yourself other than dying?"
"It's not like I have any choice now that I have received the dinner date death had invited me to."
[Proximity alert!]
[Close proximity +547]
The loud screech from Vinn filled the whole area again as it began to dive towards the earth to the same spot Ashton was.
"Do not close your eyes, Chainy." Ashton warned.
"They are falling by themselves…I have no control over sleep."
"Falling asleep means death for you! You have to stay awake at all costs…what is this world for anyway? There are plenty of antidotes that can save your arse…so make sure you do not die before I come back."
"That sounds like what a real comrade would say…comforting." Chainy said, a small smile gracing his lips.
"Next time, don't try to play the hero or savior…that character doesn't suit you at all!"
"Now you're indebted to me and you have to do anything I say to break that pact!"
"Bullshit!"
*CHIME!*
The system interface began to materialize again but now it has danger coded signs in it. The materialized interface was red as it listed out the proximity alert again.
[The next twenty seconds are unsafe for you]
[Be prepared to attack]
Ashton stood up to his feet, ready to do all that it takes to drag the unholy halflings that were trying to wipe him off the face of the earth. He titled his head downward to take a quick glance at Chainy before he dashed on the attack frenzy.
"We are not comrades." He said to him and turned to face the charging mammoth at once.

"Just let me have the last words, please." Chainy said, coughing up blood again.
"Running your mouth does help you stay alive in this situation."
[6...]
"Nothing keeps me awake aside from that."

"I did not come into this land for you nor did I come here to save your father…that is your own cross to bear and I am simply asking you not to put any of your cross upon me." Ashton said not batting an eye.

"I saved you from that attack."

"I never asked you to!" Ashton dropped, his eyes suddenly shutting close against the world.
