However, Penelope didn't want to listen. She wanted to guilt-trip her parents and make them stop Nicolai. Apologising to Ariana was her biggest concession; there was no way she was going to apologise to her in front of countless people and watch them mock her.
Worse than that was telling her friends that Nicolai was not her fiance and she had been making lies up.
"I am watching my words!" Penelope shrieked unhappily. "Why do you think that I was so reluctant to let her come to this house? It was because I was afraid that I would be abandoned. And look what happened! You all are looking at me as if I am a sinner. I made a mistake. I admit it, but there is no need for you to treat me like this."
