Chapter 519 - Scarred

Theodore, who had listened enough to Penelope's nonsense, could not help but raise his hand and slap her. 

He looked at her enraged, while Penelope, who had never even received a scolding from her father, looked at him with shock in her eyes. 

Behind them Kaylyn covered her face and sobbed in embarrassment. Who would have thought that all that love and care was simply wasted on Penelope? She had not just betrayed them; she had stripped them off their pride that they had for raising their children so well. 

"I and your mother have been lenient with you. We thought that you were a simple girl, though a bit haughty. We let it slide because you were born with a weak heart, but you make me regret that we took it for granted that we did a fine job with you just as we did with your brothers." Theodore stared at his daughter, who was looking more and more like a stranger to him. No matter how he looked at her, she no longer resembled the polite and quiet girl.
