Roman, who was crouching under a tree, turned to look at the little girl who was peering down at him. Her rosy pink hair which appeared like a soft blush, cascaded behind her. Her bright green eyes reminded him of the lake that he had once visited when he was with his mother.
The day when he was the happiest.
She was peering down at him with a tasselled yellow umbrella with laces on its seams. 'Why are you here, when it's raining so hard?'
'I am being punished,' he answered in a gloomy voice but did not elaborate for what reason.
The little girl frowned. She said to him, 'Your parents are being too harsh. You can catch a cold in this weather.' Without waiting for Roman to say anything else, she pushed the umbrella from over the hedges and ignoring the stunned look on his face, she said, 'Keep that over your head and next time try to be obedient, alright?'
After speaking, she jumped down from the top of the hedges and disappeared.
