The guards, however, remained unmoved when they heard Penelope's words. They have indeed heard and picked up a few words that were flying around in the De Luca mansion, as well as how this marriage was not something that could be called and accepted as acquiesced by both sides.
And the guards were not really welcoming of Penelope.
"What? Can you not hear what I said?" Penelope snapped with a look of disbelief. "I said I am the future mistress of this house, so get out of my way."
"Miss Ashford—"
"What is going on here?" Zena appeared behind the gates as she glanced at Penelope, who stood on the other side. A frown appeared on Zena's face when she saw the woman. "What are you doing here? I thought Nico told you that he doesn't like bothering him."
