"There is no need," Ariana stopped Penelope. She was rather calm in comparison to Penelope, who resembled a maniac.
Penelope heaved a sigh of relief. It was a good thing that Ariana knew her place and understood that she was not worthy of hearing an apology from her.
Theodore turned and looked at Ariana, and so did Nicolai, but he did not say anything to stop her. He knew that Ariana was kind, but she was not foolishly kind.
"You should let her apologise," Ariana heard her father say to her. "This is what she owes you."
"I know," Ariana softly smiled at Theodore before saying to him, "However, an apology only matters when the one saying it knows what they have done wrong. From what I can see, Penelope doesn't seem to have the slightest inkling about the things that she had done wrong. Nor is she willing to accept it."
