"Did your fiance meet with her last night?" Arabella asked as she recalled her husband, telling her that he saw Ari at a party that was way above her station. That woman was just a small doctor, and yet she was able to attend the party arranged by the Baker family.
Even her husband, who was rich and well connected, didn't get an invitation that invited more than one person. So how could Ari be there?
"Did she go out last night?" Penelope asked with quivering lips; she tried to throw as much fuel in the fire as possible. With a sniff, she said to Arabella while sighing, "I knew it; last night I tried to call my fiance but he never picked up my call. I should have known—that he was with her."
"I would have called the police but this matter is so embarrassing for me to make it public. If my parents were to know, they would be so shocked that they might end up falling sick."
