"Are you okay?" Aiden glanced at Ari who seemed paler than usual. He frowned and asked, "Was it too much for you?"
The surgery took almost six hours, not to mention the amount of blood —given that Ari had a phobia of blood, it must have been hard for her to work as his assistant.
"I am alright," Ari answered while sitting on the small wooden chair with her hands in her lap. Earlier did she really see that person with a neon stitched mask? Or was it a fragment of her imagination because of the message that her mother had sent her?
Something wasn't right. The feeling of a cold hand gripping her heart seemed to be intensifying.
"Then why do you look like you are going to be sick?" Aiden asked as he peered down at her. With his hand stretched forward he placed it on Ari's forehead and stated, "It doesn't seem like you are feeling feverish, is something else bothering you?" He thought of the incident from the afternoon when Nicolai rushed out of the cafe.
