Well nothing much happened in the next 3 weeks. I got payed. I brought the rye bread to eat and replenished my water supply. Dan disappeared sometimes and reappeared later on. Occasionally he gave me a task to do. Resorting books, delivering stuff and taking stuff back. It was really boring but my stats involved a lot during those 3 weeks. From just reading my wisdom and intelligence stats increased by 30 each and from my other tasks strength, agility and stamina increased a bit as well. Ha...I wonder how much more I have to stay here?
While I was in my thoughts Dan spoke to me.
"Eden I want you to take these notes to the mage guild."
It seems that he's back from his trip. He was puffing out air like a steam train but that really didn't concern me. I took the thick set of notes and said "Okay". The trip to the small mage guild was not strange to me. I went there a couple of times because of Dan but I really didn't want to be a mage even though the mage guildmaster wanted me to saying that I have potential.
I ran for a couple of minutes to the nearby mage guild that was really understaffed. There were not that many books to other places that had a strong magic foundation and not many wanted to be mages here since its all about the knights. Clerics and priests are tolerated due to their function in battle but mages and rouge classes, less than insects.
That's why I didn't want to be a mage. Drawing attention is a bad thing. Those in the spotlight will eventually be pulled down by others.
I walk in the front entrance which had no door. Immediately I found the guildmaster and said, "Hey I have the notes from Dan."
The guildmaster called Rag immediately reacted to my words, "Ah good give them here."
His hand stretched out showed the countless scars on it. There were some flesh ones again. I handed over the notes and said, "Rag are you doing those experiments again?"
The experiments Rag was conduction was whether a mage could fight unarmed against armed men without the usual magic they had. He devised a way to channel mana into the hands to block attacks. As such he went down to the knights place and request that they try to strike him down with their swords. Many agreed at first but then stopped when they saw Rag's will to live. A mage that possess a fighting spirit superior to the fable knights of Kallamore. How ironic.
"Well yes I have to. To prove my worth in this Kingdom is my pride and joy. Eventually I want to alter this method to include Knights and other combat based classes. Imagine hundreds of Knights still fighting without their weapons in war, crushing their opponents with their bare hands."
I imagined the scene. It would be damn frightening to face such people at once. But that will never happen since I plan to get as far away from battles as possible.
Rag was looking trough the notes I gave him. Saying ah and oh a couple of times before looking at me.
"Eden will you help me?" Rag plead to me in a desperate voice.
"Help with what?" I replied getting a bad feeling about this.
"I need you to do something for me." Rag smiled when I unconditionally agreed.
I don't like where this was going...
"I want you to investigate a certain thing that appeared nearby this town."
Can I find a way out? Wait! Outside? I can't go outside. Yes!
"But I cannot go outside yet. I can't fulfil your request."
Rag smiled at my words. Shit! He got me.
"Don't worry I can teleport you straight there."

Rank: Unknown
You cannot deny this quest
You have accepted the quest.
What? I can't deny the quest. What kind of fucked up system is this?!
"Well then you should be going now."
Rag smiled and created a magic circle underneath me. Intending to get away I tried to run off it but...
"Paralysis"
My body was completely shut down by his spell. No. I don't want to do this! Why can't I spend my time in peace?!
A bright light submerged my body and I felt a sensation of being pulled apart and reconstructed.
