Chapter 4 - 4. Not That Kid?

A heartbeat that is getting faster and faster. The sound of carefully exhaled breathing. The two people behind the big tree there were really calculating the action to be taken.

If only Sally was alone there. Perhaps, that woman would directly knock the imperial soldiers there unconscious. But at this time Sally was with a little boy who had no strength at all.

Sally could have started a fight while covering Aaron, as she did in the middle of a town square. But she has no time left. Fighting and protecting someone requires excessive focus and is a bit time-consuming.

Sally lowered her head looking at Aaron who looked uncomfortable holding back the taste of the potion she made.

"The potion only lasted twelve hours," Sally warned.

Aaron nodded with his hand that remained covered in his mouth, enduring the nausea that felt stronger and stronger.

The boy thought, maybe he will die for twelve hours? And does that mean he can come back to life after twelve hours?

Sally quickly put the hood on Aaron's head. "Run into town and find Jove's inn," Sally whispered, then pushed Aaron's body and left there, wearing a robe and face covering.

Aaron froze silently staring at Sally's departure. His forehead pursed in confusion and at the same time felt a bad taste all over his body.

Why don't we go together? Then, how did he get to the city? Wouldn't he soon die from the elixir of death he had drunk? It is impossible for his dead body to walk into the city alone.

In the midst of the bad taste that spread throughout the body, Aaron was even more confused thinking about the meaning of Sally's words.

"Akh!" The cry of pain that echoed to every corner of the forest made Aaron immediately alert.

The sound of mana explosions, the clinking of swords and the increasingly crowded shouts that sounded, became clear signs that he had to leave this place immediately.

Quickly, Aaron ran among the towering big trees. The louder the fighting sound behind him, the faster he attempted to escape.

Ran as hard as he could and ignored the rough cold wind blowing on his sweaty face. Aaron stayed focused on his goal. He no longer cares about the strange feeling that increasingly surrounds his body, because he knows that he doesn't have much time.

He must run even faster!

Without Aaron realizing it, the black hair that was inside the protection of the black hood, began to turn silver.

"Hah, hah!" His breathing sounded heavy. His head hurts so much.

Bruk!

Aaron fell down. The small body slumped to the ground. "Is this what death feels like?" he said, catching his breath. His chest was so tight!

"Ukh!" Aaron's head throbbed even more. It can't be like this, he has to get back up and run. Go far away from this place before the potion turns him into a corpse!

Before long, the trembling body was trying to get back on its feet. But fell again when a head-piercing dizziness attacked Aaron, making two eyes unable to see clearly.

Aaron shook his head and grimaced. Really, he no longer wants to drink that strange potion!

"Ukh!"

"Look, what did I find this?" The baritone's voice made Aaron open his eyes wide and be silent. Now, he was anxious to stop time or at least turn back time before he fell like this.

"Is it an imperial warrior who is looking for him or a forest bandit?" thought Aaron.

"Is it an imperial warrior who is looking for him or a forest bandit?" thought Aaron.

He could feel, the real and obvious footsteps were quickly leading to him. Aaron tried to move his body back while hearing broken branches and dry leaves being stepped on there.

Grap!

The man's strong hand grabbed Aaron's robe tightly and roughly, then forced the prone child to turn around.

Ukh! Aaron grimaced as the man gripped his arm. It's scary, Aaron doesn't know what to do. With her body feeling weak, she tried to fight the man's grip, but all in vain.

The man in the dark blue uniform and the sword that was at the waist grinned looking at the boy whose face was covered with a cloak.

"You're the kid we're looking for, aren't you?" he said, quickly unscrewing the hood of the slightly oversized robe.

"What's the child's name?"

"Aaron Blend." One man in the same outfit replied.

Aaron glanced at his surroundings quickly. From six meters away there, he saw that there were five soldiers who were heading to their current place.

The boy realized something. He realized that this situation was going to be very dangerous. If they managed to catch up with him, it meant that Master was facing many imperial warriors.

Aaron's face began to turn somber and agitated. He felt guilty for all this. Because of him, others have to face danger. Again Aaron felt like a loser who was unable to do anything to help.

Suddenly the voice of one of the soldiers made Aaron startled. "Hm? He's not the kid we're looking for," said one of the soldiers in a tone of astonishment.

Hearing this, Aaron's forehead frowned slightly. His heart felt both flustered and relieved. Isn't this, like getting a second chance? Although he didn't know why they thought that he was not the child they were looking for. Aaron obviously heard his name mentioned by them.

Could it be that the gods has given him another chance?

"You're right. Hey, show me the sketch of the kid we're looking for," said the soldier still clutching Aaron's arm.

The man immediately examined Aaron's face as if the face covered with several bandages was fake. Feeling dissatisfied, the man also widened Aaron's eyelids, checking whether the golden eyes and silver hair were real.

Aaron was silent even though the man in front of him examined his face and body at will. He was more interested in seeing the wristband that gave off light. The red light that appeared instantly formed a small box, not long after, Aaron's face and the child's biodata were exposed from the transparent box.

"Does the bracelet have magical gems?" guessed Aaron.

Although born in the land of Zephyr. This is the first time Aaron has seen something created from magical gems. The son of a farmer living on the edge of town can almost never see those luxury items. Moreover, he wants to feel the power of mana, he can't get.

"He is not the child we are looking for."

Ukh! Aaron was pushed strongly. His golden eyes flashed in confusion. Will he be released?

"How dare you guys disturb innocent people!"

Sally's voice was loud. All the heads there turned to the woman wearing the face covering.

Sally! Aaron exclaimed inwardly. The child's heart immediately calmed down at Sally's arrival.

Quickly and easily, Sally let out a white beam radiating from the palm of her right hand and formed a sword that looked so sharp.

It didn't take long for the seven warriors to directly attack Sally.

"Hey kid, hide and watch my every move carefully," Sally ordered, then jumped up and attacked the three soldiers there.

Ordered like that, Aaron immediately executed Sally's order. He crawled slowly to find a place to hide and a large tree root became Aaron's shelter.

Aaron is fascinated by Sally's quick movements and looks graceful in his eyes. The woman still looked calm despite being attacked simultaneously.

"Will Master be able to make me a swordsman like him?" muttered Aaron.

If he can become like that, can't awaken the power of mana, it won't make him sad.
