Despite his best efforts to keep moving, Aaron found himself slowing as the cold sapped his strength and resolve. The landscape around him seemed to blur into a monotonous expanse of darkness, broken only by the faint glimmer of starlight overhead.
Before long, Aaron felt his stomach grumbling when the night got coldest. That was because of the cold. After all, his body consumed more calories to maintain its current temperature in such conditions.
"I didn't feel hungry during the trip, so it looks like my body began to adjust now to work like it should be," Aaron thought. "Regardless… to think that I couldn't find any signs of plant life here… this definitely is connected to the possible end of this world."
Aaron kept moving until morning when he finally found some signs of enemy activity in the area. It was hard to find them since they could fly, but it was hard to miss them when there were so many craters around, clear signs of their attacks.
