Beyond the walls, thanks to his high perception, Aaron was able to find those shadows… they didn't have torches with them, so Aaron assumed that they were monsters, and he soon confirmed that when he began to hear some howls.
"This can't be a coincidence… adding this to the feeling that I had earlier… are the monsters being controlled?" Aaron furrowed his eyebrows.
If the monsters were acting out of instinct, it wouldn't make sense for them to return at night… unless they had secured a large area for them to keep growing. That being said, there was also the possibility that they had returned because they were being killed en masse in another place.
Aaron didn't find any signs of soldiers, guards, or adventurers close to the city, but with large enough monsters, they should be able to approach the place and subdue the dungeon break. In any case, instead of assuming anything, Aaron decided to wait and see and then make some adjustments to his strategy.
