Chapter 9 - Commands (2)

Aaron left the garden while his skeletons were doing the search inside the castle and found dozens and dozens of guards and mercenaries coming from outside to attack him. Fighting them without the skeletons would be hard, but as expected of his class… It gave him the tools to fight in all scenarios with no problems whatsoever.

The mercenaries were lightly armored, and they had swords and daggers with them, but the guards in front of them had their shields raised to protect them. Attacking them with Bone Spears won't be possible.

With that in mind, Aaron used his Poisonous Spheres. He made them go up upward, and then they flew in an arc before falling on the mercenaries. One of them almost got hit, but he dodged to the side… unfortunately for him and the others, the smell of poison made them get dizzy. Soon, they began to tremble and sweat cold before falling into the small poison pond.

"Poison magic is really nasty against opponents of this caliber, huh… added to the fact that my magic is way beyond the normal levels of this world, the smell alone can knock them out," Aaron thought while seeing the enemies falling one after the other as he fired more and more of them.

The enemies that got hit directly died in a matter of seconds. Still, Aaron decided not to turn them into skeletons immediately. He used his extra mana to fire even more Poisonous Spheres and created a natural barrier on the garden… it ruined the place. Eventually, the smell reached Aaron, but soon he entered the castle after he had finished his job.

When Aaron was back to the entrance hall, he found a bunch of servants on their knees, being watched by three skeletons. They were trembling since they imagined they would find their doom pretty soon. Still, Aaron just ignored them and waited for the skeletons to finish their job while he watched things outside.

The poison's miasma knocked down everyone who tried to cross the garden. Some smartasses tried to cover their mouths with pieces of cloth so as not to breathe the poison, but it didn't work. Putting the level of skill aside, Aaron's magic level had reached a point where the poison could affect them just by entering in contact with their skin. It wasn't an ordinary type of poison. It was a magic type of poison, after all.

Eventually, the other skeletons returned. Most of them were empty-handed, but they brought a bunch more servants and three very well-dressed people.

The king was a tall and imposing figure with a muscular build. He had short, black hair and piercing blue eyes that seemed to see right through Aaron. His face was chiseled and serious, and he carried himself with an air of authority.

The queen, on the other hand, was a delicate and graceful woman with long, flowing blonde hair and gentle green eyes. She had a soft, round face and a warm smile that put everyone at ease, not in that situation, though. Despite her petite stature, she exuded a quiet power and wisdom that commanded respect. As a couple, they complemented each other perfectly, with the king's strength and the queen's gentleness balancing each other out.

Their daughter had petite frame and soft facial features. Her long, flowing hair was a vibrant shade of pink, and she wore it pulled back in a loose braid. She had bright, expressive eyes that were a deep shade of blue. The princess clothing was quite elegant and feminine, with light, flowing fabrics and delicate patterns. Despite her gentle appearance, she exuded a quiet strength and determination probably inherited from her parents.

"I take it that you are the royal family of this place," Aaron said after he crossed his arms. "I tried to contact you all by using peaceful means, but you all forced me to play my hand… and now things ended up like this. You shouldn't tell your lackeys to kill someone when you don't know much about them, you know."

Aaron had planned to kill the king on the spot and make his wife take charge of things and force her cooperation. She should be aware of what her husband was planning, and Aaron would need the help of someone who was well-informed on the matter to avoid problems. Still, he hesitated when he saw their kid, a girl who was barely twelve. Killing her father would traumatize her there… dozens of people died, but they worked knowing that could happen. The kid wasn't part of the problem.

"... What do you want?" The king asked while clenching his teeth.

"I know that you are planning to do something big with the enemy country, and I am here to prevent you from using it. It won't end well, and it will probably destroy the world and everything in it," Aaron replied. "Tell me what it is, and I will forget about this attack if you cooperate with me."

The king opened his eyes widely due to the shock… he didn't expect that someone like Aaron would know that since he assumed that he was an agent of the enemy country. The queen also looked surprised, and that confirmed that she was aware of the situation. At the same time, the little girl was completely unaware of the situation. There was no point in making her suffer for the crimes of her parents. However, Aaron came to do a job and he would do it in one way or the other...
