He put his two hands on the orb and repeated "SSS, SSS, SSS," in his mind while closing his eyes so as to not ruin the surprise.
But after thirty seconds, he opened back his eyes and saw the unthinkable: the orb wasn't golden, actually it didn't have any color on it, and it didn't glow or show anything.
"Huh... try again please?" the angel looked confused, this had never happened before, so she didn't know what was the issue.
Max followed through with the angel's request and repeated the process, but yet again nothing.
He tried a third time, but nothing.
A fifth, and yet again nothing.
The result was obvious: not a single divination wanted to link with Max, and everybody could guess that.
"Pffft~~ this guy didn't get anything bahaha"
"Hey psst, don't laugh, it must be terrible to be this weak."
"Imagine not a single divination wanting you, I'd cry."
Max was crushed, he had hoped he could get the isekai life he so wanted, he wanted to bond with his classmates and fight powerful monsters alongside them, he wanted to find love and do all the things he never could have done in his past life, but it seems like fate decided otherwise.
Remembering the word "fate", he looked up to the eyeball in the sky and he realized that it was only staring at him for some unknown reason.
All of this got him angry, if even that thing was judging him, then none of it mattered anymore, his life was fucked now, everyone else has a chance to grow strong, but he didn't.
And so with the entire anger he had stopped himself from unleashing in his past life, he grabbed the orb from the pedestal and threw it on the cloud-like ground, shattering it into a thousand pieces and surprising not only his classmates but also the angel beauty.
"What are you doing?" she asked, clearly mad at the boy for destroying such an important item.
"Shut up," he answered, but before he could continue, the eyeball in the sky disappeared and the clouds started rumbling, almost as if they were trying to speak.
"What's happening?"
"Is this normal?"
"Stop joking around guys!"
People panicked, but the angel just sighed and clapped her hands together while chanting something they couldn't understand, and just like that, the golden gates that were behind her opened, beyond them a shining light that couldn't be seen through.
"This is your way to the other world, I will be wishing you all luck otherworlders," she bowed and presented the gates to the confused class.
None of them advanced as they weren't sure what to do, but eventually, David took the first step towards the light and after a few seconds traversed it.
And just like a herd of sheep, this created a reaction in chain in which everybody else hurried to go through the gates.
The only person still present in the vast horizon now was Max, but before the angel lady could say anything, he got up and slowly walked to the light.
It's not because he had no divination he couldn't lead a normal life there right? He could always work a job, marry someone, and have children, it didn't matter others could be heroes and he couldn't, right?
These were the delusions Max Evans gave himself so as to not make his mind crumble upon the feelings of jealousy and the unfairness of this situation.
But before traversing the gate, he looked back to the angel lady and spoke, "fuck you and fuck this world, it can just go to hell for all I care."
She shook her head in disapproval but didn't say anything as she understood the frustration he must be feeling right now, but it was okay, there were still 30 heroes linked to divinations that could save the world from all the catastrophes that dawned upon it, alongside many other heroes already present there.
And just like that, Max passed the door to the otherworld, unsure of what the future reserved, but hopeful that everything would be alright in the end.
"Good luck otherworlders, please save this world from its fate..." the blonde angel prayed once everybody left.

The moment Max passed through the gate, he felt his body being pulled by an unknown force, almost as if it was dragging him somewhere.
After a while, he finally decided to open his eyes to discover where it had transported him, and just like that, he found himself in a royal-looking room along with his classmates who had already gotten up before him.
They were surrounded by guards wearing shiny armor, and below them was a massive blue circle, the same that had been used by the black figure to bring them here, but none of them knew that.
The walls of the room, which were made of stone, told them that they weren't in their modern world anymore, instead brought to somewhere more... magic-oriented.
"The heroes are here!" a white-haired elder with pointed ears, which Max immediately recognized as an elf, suddenly shouted and bowed in front of them.
"Where are we?"
"Is this the other world...?"
The students started asking questions, and the old man seemed to be taken aback by this, but he quickly regained his composure and answered, "My name is Dreyer, I am the head mage of the kingdom of Iseria, and I welcome you all to our world."
"Welcome us? What does that mean?" David asked, taking the initiative as usual and showing his goodwill.
"We have been waiting for you, the otherworlders, to come and save us from the demon king and many celestial beasts that brought their armies to ruin our kingdom and the neighboring ones!"
"Great," Lucie cut him off, seemingly eager to get into action using her SSS rank divination, "so how do we use our powers?"
"The divinations have informed me that you must say [Status Window] out loud to activate it, but I do not understand the meaning of such words" Dreyer told us the magic words, which were basically the same as in the mangas and video games Max played.
Hearing this juicy piece of information, every single one of the people in the circle except Max said the words, and their status windows appeared in front of them, hidden from everyone but their eyes.
"W-we got two SSS ranked divinations in here??!!" the elder was shocked, not expecting such a miracle, but he quickly used a magic tool to detect that their origins were Lucie and David, the top cast of the class, "let us see which incredible divinations you have!"
He used his magic tool to analyze the status window, which he could see thanks to it, and exclaimed in surprise at each of their divination skills before displaying them for everyone to see.
[Divination of the Light] was David's and [Divination of Dragons] was Lucie's, even their name showed that they were incredible.
Max didn't care though, instead, he just wanted to get out of there, but immediately he realized that he hadn't actually tried to open his status window because he believed he didn't have one because of his "lack" of divination.
'Status window,' he murmured, not expecting a thing.
