As the Ebonwood Demon's foot started to descend further to try and crush Max, the barrier continued to crack and shatter more and more as the assassin held his ground, making sure to not falter.
Sensing it was losing the battle, the demon put even more force into its attack and roared out of anger and frustration, its eyes flashing with rage and its entire body covered with aura.
[Is it reaching its phase 2 already?]
Max, sensing his advantage, suddenly destroyed the barrier completely, sending the demon back a bit as it lost its balance, and right during this moment of vulnerability, he jumped and aimed at the demon's exposed foot, then struck it.
"WHAT THE?" it shouted as it felt the pain of its foot being cut, it hadn't expected Max to actually be able to pierce through its thick skin as it had been underestimating the sharpness of his blade.
