Max walked back to the room he shared with Elly, a smile playing on his lips. He knew that he would need to find a way to balance his academy life with his assassin duties, but for now, he was content with the progress he had made.
He knocked on the door and let himself in, finding Elly sitting on the edge of the bed, her cheeks flushed with concern.
"Max, I've been so worried! It's been hours since you left"
Max chuckled, placing a finger on her lips to silence her. "It's okay, don't worry. I'm in now, and that's what matters."
"What happened?"
"Well… guess who is accepted at the academy?" he triumphantly smiled.
"I always believed in you," The half-breed hugged the boy, but eventually thought about something that might cause problems, "How am I supposed to be with you if it's only you who is in though…?"
To answer her question, Max shook his head and smiled, "Don't worry, I already got this covered too."
