"Max, we need to talk," Iris looked at the boy, a smile on her face.
It had been around four days since they reached the leader's mansion, and it seemed like their small break was over.
Elly was busy reading a book, and she gestured at Max that he was free to go, she wouldn't be able to stop him anyway.
Iris and Max walked through the mansion's hallways until reaching some room on the second floor, where Iris had set up a small table for the two of them.
They both sat in front of one another, Iris had a cold demeanor, and she had a letter in hand.
"Max, I have received your first mission," she put the letter on the table and pushed it toward Max's side.
"…" The boy grabbed the letter and opened it before looking at Iris, "No need to act like it's the end of the world, you could have just told me y'know?"
