Glossary

✦ Source Region: The inner space in one's body. Contains one's sources of Spirit and Curse, and other things related to a Phantom Hunter like sources of Phantom Abilities they created and Traits they awakened.

✦ Spirit Source: The white-gold source in one's Source Region. It's size indicates one's spirit energy, and intensity indicates one's spirit power.

✦ Curse Source: The dark-purple source in one's Source Region. It's size indicates one's spirit energy, and intensity indicates one's spirit power.

Phantom Hunters: People who learns to wield and cultivate spirit and curse power. They practice and gain proficiency in the applications of Spirit and Curse energy combinations to create Phantom Abilities with exotic powers by using Cursed Oath law that emerged after the cosmic laws broke to fight against Haunts and Dark Ruins that possess catastrophic threats.

Haunts: The supernatural entities that birthed after the cosmic laws broke. They feast on negativity, emotions, and fear they invoke on others and souls. They could be in any shape and form. Humanoid, Insentient-type, Beast-type, Plant-type, Ghostly, Insect-type, natural forces like a source of water, fire, etc.

✣ Spirit Power: The power and expression of freedom, by one's thinking and way of life they forge. One can increase their Spirit Power by doing Spirit Training, which is sending their consciousness into horrifying nightmares accessed from Haunt cores. The more people endure, fight back, survive in the nightmare, the more their spirit power increases, but if they can't stay sane and lose themselves, Phantom Hunters lose their spirit power and might even turn insane.

✣ Curse Power: the power and expression of Restriction. Fueled by one's power of overcoming negativeness, pain, and reigning them. One can increase their curse power by doing Curse Absorption on Haunt core and enduring the curse marks that inflict physical and mental pain that appears as the result of Curse Absorption process.

-- [ Basic Applications of Spirit energy] --

1. Veil: The basic use that is foundation of many techniques. Mainly, it can hide one's aura with spirit energy because Veil can mesh with surroundings and atmosphere due to spirit energy's freedom characteristic of turning into anything.

2. Manifest: Spirit energy can be manifested into four basic expressions based on its freedom principle. People can practice in them to gain proficiency of --> Emission, Conjure, Manipulation, Transmute.

--> Emission: It means separating spirit energy from one's body and maintaining its effectiveness and control even after losing connection with the user.

--> Conjure: Turning spirit energy into anything. Physical objects and even fixed laws, dynamics, and principles to attach to the objects.

--> Manipulation: Controlling physical objects, material objects, and even living people using spirit energy. Can be used through 'logically constructed' medium as well and also manipulate forms of spirit/curse energy.

--> Transmute: changing the quality and properties of one's spirit energy. One can turn spirit energy into any element like fire, water, lightning....etc, man-made materials like glass, rubber, paper, and such based on their affinity, vibe, personality, and practicing to gain affinity with them by various means.

The effectiveness, size, potency, and all the basic factors of Veil, Emission, Conjure, Manipulation, and Transmute are determined by one's Spirit Power, and the amount of Spirit Energy used to manifest them.

1. Enchant: Due to the destruction of cosmic laws, everyone can possess curse power and allow people having curse power to Enchant anything, boosting their respective potency and foundational aspects, based on curse energy's consumption.

2. Specialism. --> Awakens a special ability/traits based on their experience, personality, and way of life at some point of time after surviving against curse and negativeness.

[Note]: Phantom Ability creation and how power structure in this book works are very constructive and easy to understand while being 'AWESOME'. :D This is my best power system so far inspired from HxH, JJK, and my on twists and ideas, with much more to reveal which is not covered in the basics here, but will gradually reveal and expand in the story.

[Ranks of Dark Ruins]

Rank-D to Rank-S are Dark Ruins that periodically manifests and stays until Phantom Hunters explores them and destroy their core. They can also be maintained after finding their working patterns.

Open Dark Ruins -- These are Z-rank Dark Ruins that spans across large area and have a core that turn that area into a ecosystem that produces Haunts, absorbs atmospheric curse and spirit energy, create resources on its area accordingly, and manifest unique phenomena different to each Z-rank Dark Ruin.
