Lex stood confused as he looked at the snake. The reason for his confusion was that he noticed something.
The snake wasn't taking any initiative to attack him.
'So it's more of a defence technique, huh? Or maybe she just hasn't perfected it yet.' Lex thought as he circled around the Giant Ice Snake.
'It could be a trap, but I need to take a chance.' Lex thought as again shot towards the snake. But this time, he just attacked a few times while flying around it.
As Lex expected, the snake only attacked when he got closer to it. He thought, 'Hmm, the chances are high then.'
He then stopped his attacks as he went in front of the snake and hovered in the air, using his flames as a jet booster.
'If that's really the case, I can try it and see if it works. If it does, then I won't have to use my Focus.' Lex thought as he stuffed the dagger in the belt of his pants.
Gwendolyn just watched everything with curiosity. She had confidence in the defence of the snake and knew it would be hard to defeat her.
She was just waiting for Lex to lose his cool and make some mistakes so she could take advantage of them; otherwise, with this half-perfect technique of hers, she doubted she would be able to win.
Lex then took a deep breath and joined his hands together as a wide, sly grin appeared on his face. He said, "Let's try our usual beginner's spell."
As Gwendolyn watched in surprise, a ball of crimson-red flames began to form above Lex. It continued to just grow bigger and bigger until it was the size of an adult human.
"Let's see how high your snake's defence is," Lex said as he raised one of his hands in the air. Then he waved that hand as the ball of flames dropped on the snake at a rapid speed.
Lex wouldn't have been able to give the ball such speed, so he was just using gravity to do his work.
A loud boom sound came as the ball and the head of the snake collided. The hall was instantly filled with mist, and the result of the collision remained unknown.
Lex smiled as he played with his fingers, and many balls of flame began to appear around him. They weren't as big as the previous one, but the sheer number of them was terrifying.
He was doing this because he knew with the defence that snake had, it would be able to survive that Flame Ball pretty easily. He just sent that attack to create the mist.
Smiling, Lex brought one of the small Flame Balls closer to him and dipped his finger in it. It was hot, but he wasn't getting burnt because of his ability.
It is a widely known fact that you gain a slight immunity to the type of ability you have. Like if you have a mental aspect ability, then you'd be immune to mental-related attacks to some level.
'I just hope it works.' Lex thought as he continued to send flames in the Flame Ball, which made the flames very dense. He continued to do so until he noticed that the mist was about to be cleared up.
After that, Lex took out his finger and waved his hand at the small but dense Flames Ball. It was to cover the dense crimson colour of the flames with a light colour so it wouldn't look any different from the other Flame Balls.
For that, he simply created another layer of flames above the ball and kept some distance between the two. It was difficult, but he was able to do it.
'Is it because of strong soul?' Lex asked.
[Somewhat yes, it is also because of the increase in spiritual energy you got recently.]
Lex nodded and sent the Flame Ball back to its original spot.
As the mist cleared up, the situation in the hall remained mostly unchanged. The only difference was that there were many Flame Balls behind Lex.
Gwendolyn still stood with the snake surrounding and protecting her. The snake had the side of its head blasted off, but overall, it was completely fine. And it was also regenerating, albeit very slowly.
Gwendolyn narrowed her eyes at Lex as she touched the snake to provide even more ice to it. She thought, 'Now what? Is there anything else in your arsenal?'
She was confused as to why Lex would summon so many Flame Balls. Although they were many, the number alone won't help in this case as it would just divide the power of the Flame Balls.
Even if a big Flame Ball was only able to blast the side of the head. Then, what would these Small Flame Balls do?
"You don't talk much, do you?" Lex asked while folding his arms in his chest.
Gwendolyn continued to channel Ice in the snake and replied, "I don't like to waste my energy in words."
Lex sighed and shook his head while thinking, 'She deserves the title Cold Jade beauty.'
Lex then raised his hand and waved it. In the next second, the numerous flame balls began raining rapidly on the snake.
Gwendolyn then made the snake coil around with her as a centre to defend against the flame balls. Although these small balls won't do any harm to the snake, they could cause fatal injuries to her.
She left some gaps so she could see what Lex was planning to do. With the skills he has shown till now, she doubted it was just a simple attack because it didn't make any sense.
The barrage of flame balls continued on the Ice Snake and did absolutely no damage to it. Gwendolyn didn't pay any attention to the snake and looked at Lex's movements.
As if his task was completed, Lex smiled and said, "Thanks for the trick you showed me in the beginning. It was a good one."
Gwendolyn got confused at the sudden statement, and only then it hit her. Her eyes went wide in surprise.
