Later in the day, Carissa tried talking to David but he ignored her the whole day. It
was like that for the next few days too. When she realized he was avoiding her, she came to work one fateful day intending to talk to him no matter what but she got another shock. She didn't have an office next to him anymore and she was informed that she would be staying at the open office at her former table.
She couldn't take it or understand the sudden change and went to talk to him.
Carissa paced outside David's office, her mind racing with frustration and confusion. She had to confront him; she couldn't stand the cold treatment any longer. Gathering her resolve, she pushed open the door, finding David alone at his desk, immersed in paperwork.
"David, we need to talk," she stated firmly, closing the door behind her with a definitive click.
David looked up, his expression guarded. He remained silent, waiting for her to continue.
