As they discussed the rest of their meal, Carissa felt her pulse racing. She couldn't believe David's audacity, but at the same time, she couldn't deny the thrill it gave her. She glanced at him, his face the picture of innocence, and couldn't help but smile.
Once their orders were placed, Daisy leaned in, trying to figure out David's hidden intentions. "So, David, how's it like to be back with Carissa after six years?"
David leaned back, his hand now resting innocently on the table. "You know, we actually go way back. Lost touch, and then fate brought us back together. It feels incredible to be with her again."
Carissa nodded, her heart warming at the memory. "It's been a whirlwind, but I wouldn't trade it for anything."
