Louisa was standing a few feet away, staring at her in shock.
"Oh my God, Louisa," Carissa stammered, her face turning bright red. "I...this isn't what it looks like."
Louisa's eyes widened even more. "It looks like you were just making out with our boss."
Carissa's mind raced, trying to come up with an explanation. "Uh, we were just... discussing something important."
Louisa raised an eyebrow, a half smile forming on her lips. "Very important, I see."
"Please, Louisa, you can't tell anyone about this," Carissa pleaded, stepping closer. "It's complicated."
"So… you're having an affair with the boss?" Louisa's eyebrows shot up.
Carissa nodded, biting her lower lip. She felt the urge to confide everything to Louisa, including the daughter she had with David, but she held back.
"You shouldn't have kept it from me," Louisa said, her tone a mix of hurt and curiosity.
