"Walk, Luna" my mom huffed from behind me. I groaned and turned to look at her with pleading eyes. She simply glared at me and pushed me in front. All the people here were fancy and classy ass people. I hated that.
"I don't want to be here, mom" I mumbled loud enough for her to hear. She chuckled and shook her head in disbelief.
"I know" she whispered from behind me. "We're going to stay here just for ten minutes, I promise" she said.
"Ten minutes is a long time" I said and faked a smile when someone smiled at me.
"Luna, you're twenty two. Not two. Behave like it" My mom playfully scolded and walked away, leaving me alone in the hall. I wasn't at ease at all. My mother thought it would be a great idea to come to the ball that one of her friends organized. I groaned and slowly walked down the hall, smiling at the people walking in my direction.
Oh no.
"Isn't that Luna Jenkins?!" Someone shouted in disbelief. Yes. There she was. That was my mother's friend.
"Hey Stella!" I faked pleasure as I kissed her on both cheeks and pulled away. I observed her fake self. Stella had her blond hair in a high neat bun. Her neck was adorned with an expensive necklace and she was wearing a beautiful long dress. She was beautiful.
"I haven't seen you in a while" she said. I smiled. It was a forced smile. The last time I saw her was three months ago when mom invited her over for dinner.
"I've been busy with college" I told her and watched as her eyes widened in understanding.
"Oh yes. Your mother told me that you were doing a bachelor in-" she stopped and tried to recall what my mother told her about me.
"Social work. I'm doing a bachelor in social work" I helped and watched as she nodded. "Well Stella, I'll see you around. I have to meet my mother in the main room" I lied perfectly. She nodded and I started walking in the opposite direction to where she was heading. I wanted to cry out in frustration as I hated to wear long fancy dresses. Walking in high heels wasn't my stuff. When I saw a balcony, I quickly walked towards it. I sighed in relief when I realized that it might be the only quiet place in the entire mansion. I slide opened the door and stepped out. A smile stretched on my face when the cool air met my face. I quickly walked to the railing and put my hands on it. The mansion was closed to the forest. The woodsy and fresh smell was really appeasing. Wanting to walk in the garden, I started making my way to the side stairs of the balcony. Again, I groaned when I realized that it was difficult as hell to walk while wearing a long dress and high heels.
"Fucking hell" I swore. I clenched my jaws, then decided to take off my heels. I'm not going back in. After this, I'm walking straight to the car and I would wait for my mother there. In my entire twenty two years of existence, high heels have always been my enemy. Once the shoes were off, I put them in the corner of the balcony. I untied my hair from the bun that it was tied into. I breathed in relief when my long black hair was finally free from that tight bun. A smile stretched on my face as I started walking down the stairs. Little did I noticed that I accidentally stepped on my dress, causing me to trip.
I was going to die on the stairs.
Before I could actually feel the other steps of the stairs, I felt hands wrapped themselves around my waist. My eyes were closed. Why do we close our eyes when there were some dangers? That was stupid. As if with closed eyes, we weren't going to feel any pain.
"Still breathing?" I opened my eyes quickly when I heard this deep sexy voice. My eyes widened at the sexy piece of human standing in front of me. No human had the right to be that sexy.
"God?" I asked. When he rose one of his perfect eyebrows in confusion, I realized how stupid I sounded. His perfect face was everything. His well trimmed beard made him look so handsome. His green eyes was hypnotizing. As his body was pressed against mine, I could feel how muscular he was. He helped up stand up and roughly let go of me. His eyes trailed to the floor. I followed his eyes to see a cigarette on the floor. "I'm sorry?" I more like questioned. Was I supposed to apologize for the wasted cigarette which was going to ruin his health? "Thank you" I said when I decided to look at him again. He was already staring at me. He was wearing a black suit. His hair was perfectly fixed. I wonder how would he look if his hair was messy and he was wearing a Jean. Noticing that he was not going to say anything else, I stared at the stairs. "I'm going to go" I simply said and walked down the stairs carefully. When I was on the grass, I gently lifted my dress so that it wouldn't be ruined and walked bare feet on the grass. I turned my head slightly to look at the man, who seemed to be observing me. He was still on the stairs, his eyes on me. He was model worthy. He did seem to the snobby type of man. I quickly turned around to face the woods. That man could take the breath away just by his looks.
"Luna!" I turned to see my mother standing on the balcony. She was looking at me while shaking her head.
