"Y-yes, Clan Patriarch," Lu Xan stammered, sweat pouring down his face, partly from the intense heat of the furnace and partly from the patriarch's overwhelming aura.
"Do you regret it?" the Clan Patriarch asked, his tone neutral.
Lu Xan hesitated, unsure how to respond. "This… this was beyond my expectation."
"Were you not the one who raised suspicions about him?" Lu Zheng said, his voice steady. "I remember stating that he passed the bloodline test, yet you were unconvinced. Are you convinced now that he has spilled blood? Convinced that he carries the same bloodthirsty nature as ours?"
Lu Xan remained silent.
"You still have doubts?" Lu Zheng said, taking another sip of his beverage. "Well, I can't blame you. That is your duty."
