It was the strangest thing Alpha Denzel had ever heard. Powers were permanent as long as one had them, so this was not making sense to him.
"What do you mean your powers aren't working?"
"I'm serious. They aren't," Valerie frustratedly said, feeling like she had offended someone but couldn't figure out who.
Denzel's mind raced, searching for solutions as cars passed them on the highway. "Do you remember the last time you used them?"
She had just used them about two days ago to his knowledge, so he couldn't tell if she had used them during any of the training sessions after that.
"After using them to help Alice, I haven't used them anymore," Valerie clarified. Alpha Denzel thought deeply and asked again.
"Can you communicate with your wolf?"
"Let me try."
