Chapter 3 - Chapter 2 - The Talk Show

As Kim Mi-soo was still on stage, her mouth closing and opening, gaping for air. She heard an uttered sound in the audience that made her sound-fragile ear twitch, when she heard the menacing voice of a middle-aged woman in the audience, some sort of traumatic memory was triggered-almost as if she had heard it before.

Still bewildered, she squinted her eyes at the audience searching for the woman who had just spoken but unfortunately she could only catch a slight glimpse at the red, radiant, high heels worn by the mysterious woman in the crowd. Feeling defeated, a despondent expression was drawn all over Mi-soo's face, but without hesitation, she changed her facial expression and tried to forge a smile for the epic success of her debut that had just occurred.

Back at the dormitory, which she stayed in with three other aspiring artists, they congratulated her on her epicly successful debut and had even mentioned how she has had one of the best debuts in the entire agency, DG entertainment. Soon enough, Kim's agency started getting a lot of incoming calls regarding her debut. The press, Media, podcasts, and even talk shows started asking the agency-almost begging them-to let her attend their events, because she had a shockingly amazing debut. Netizens already began calling her the '5th generation overnight star' because of the rise of her popularity overnight.

The elegant, sophisticated CEO stepped in while wearing head-to-toe designer brands with glamorous, long silky brown hair. Everyone in the company adored her illuminating charisma but not nearly as much as Kim Mi-soo, in fact many big titles wanted Mi-soo to debut under their company but she rejected them all just to audition for DG entertainment. Miss Park, the CEO, had gotten a lot of complaints about the ringing telephones. She had to come to see the beautiful catastrophe. When she came she simply said in a beautiful yet deep voice, "The talk show. Let her go to the talk show." Without hesitation Kim's manager had told her in a flash that she's going to the talk show, rather than being excited all the way, she was actually quite tired due a lack of sleep, the recurring dream clouding her insomnia.

When Kim stepped out of her dorm, her manager quickly led her to her dressing room where her outfits were already picked in detail just for her. When she had finished putting it on, she was bombarded by the entire makeup staff, but as one of the staff members wanted to put some makeup on her, she had broken down into tears because of the beauty without makeup radiating from Kim.

The staff thought to herself dejected, "She's so pretty even without makeup, meanwhile I'm so ugly not even makeup can fix my disaster of a face"

Kim spoke up, disagreeing with the staff member saying she was beautiful the way she was, and what matters is how beautiful and pure your heart is and not all pretty faces have a pure heart like the staff's members own. But instead of thanking Kim for her kind and supporting words she stood there in horror as she asked with a stuttering voice "ho-how di-did you know what I just thought of?"

Kim replied, rather confused, "You literally just said it out loud". That very statement made the staff member fall to her knees. The other staff stood there looking rather bewildered because they didn't hear anything coming from that staff's mouth. Then Kim looked in the makeup mirror looking at herself in total shock, her eyes widened in realisation. Her thoughts got interrupted by joyous Miss Park who said excitedly, "I had a feeling the company still had an eye for talented beauties'', she said, praising Mi-soo for her stunning visual. She wrapped her arms around Mi-soo, wishing her a successful first talk show. The hug that she received from this woman gave her a feeling of nostalgia almost as if she had felt such comforting warmth before…

"Hello", Kim greeted, bowing to the fullest to show her respect. The radio show host bowing in respect, greeting back. "Thank you very much for inviting me over", she appreciated, smoothing her skirt back to sit on the chair placed in front of the mike. The shorter female host responded with a wave of her hand. "Let's start shall we?", the male host started rhetorically.

"Could you explain why you think you have such a successful debut while in the most controversial generation of kpop?", the male host asked, directing the question towards Mi-soo. Mi-soo in response, turned her head to the side while sucking in a breath, trying to find a brief correct answer to the question.

"Well, in my opinion, I think my popularity is all based on the fact that I got promoted really well by my company and that I was able to present myself well on the many times i was allowed on camera before my debut", Kim answered, smiling.

"Being humble, I see", The female host stated, raising an eyebrow. Kim Mi-Soo sighed, closing her eyes in amusement. With that, the show ended.

As Kim Mi-Soo left the stage of the talk show, the staff members of the show were also cleaning up the hall where the show took place but then suddenly a staff member abruptly caught Mi-Soo's eye, the menacingly dark eyes and evil smirk on the female staff face said it all to Mi-Soo. She always knew there was so many people who had always despised her ever since the incident on the 16th, the day her parents died. but today was the day she was reminded. Out of nowhere, a huge key light came crashing right at her. All she did there was look in the big bright light coming down to her with a dull, numb face but fortunately her manager, the nearest person to her, came right on time and pushed Kim before it came down on her. Her manager quickly looked at her in the eye and asked if she was okay and all she could do was simply stare with an unfazed, dull expression, because she knew better. Her manager got angry and started asking who was in charge of the light that had just fallen. The staff, in the most unapologetic voice, apologized for what had just occurred and then gave off a little smirk at Mi-Soo and left.
