Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Undefiled

Although what Ben said made Lucia uncomfortable, she didn't rebuke him.

Hayden stood there with a face filled with disbelief. He had been in a relationship with Lucia for years; they hadn't even had their first kiss yet.

And she had sex with Ben barely two days of them getting together. Hayden was disappointed and hurt. He looked at Lucia with eyes almost clouded in tears.

Men don't cry, but Hayden couldn't stop himself from shedding tears.

"Apologise to him." Old Ye, who had been quiet all this while, spoke slowly with an expressionless face.

He didn't have the intention of comforting Hayden; of course, he didn't know how Hayden was feeling right now. Old Ye was foreign to such emotion; he had never fallen in love in his two lifetimes.

"What?!" Ben reposted like he had heard a big joke; the two people before him were seen as clowns for demanding an apology.

Old Ye kept quiet; he didn't wish to say another word to the despicable people before him.

"Hayden, you think Ben is like you, who didn't come from a rich family background? If you know what is good for you, take your friend and leave; don't make him angry." Lucia advised Hayden, although she didn't know how Hayden became very handsome, he couldn't bear to hurt him more than she had already done.

"He said I should apologise to him." Ben burst into laughter but abruptly stopped laughing, and his face turned cold. "With a roadside fake suit and those fake shoes, you think you can make me apologise to you; are you blind to see that only my car can buy you and your entire family?" Ben scoffed in contempt.

He has long found Old Ye and Hayden displeasing to his eyes, especially Old Ye for being too handsome.

Without talking more nonsense with him, Old Ye stretched his arm and smacked Ben's face.

He spun around, and another slap landed on his face once again, shocking Hayden and Lucia.

Everything happened so fast that they didn't grasp how it started; they didn't expect Old Ye to take action immediately at the drop of a hat without ironing things out with more words.

"Apologise!" Old Ye repeated, he was thrifty with his words.

Ben's face was already swollen. He desperately tried to escape, but he couldn't move his legs or muscles. Gritting his teeth, he stubbornly said, "No way..."

His words were cut short by a slap, and another, followed by another, made Ben giddy from receiving three successive slaps.

"What do you think you are doing?" Lucia shrieked; she didn't expect Ben couldn't even prevent the slaps, except gladly accepting them; he couldn't even fight back as a man, which made her perplexed.

Realising that the situation was going downhill, she tried to jump out and stand in the way.

But an icy look from Old Ye rooted her legs from moving.

Raising his hand again to slap Ben, three droplets of tears fell from Ben's eyes as he quickly said, "I am sorry. Please don't hit me again. I am sorry."

Old Ye turned around and took three steps. When Hayden wasn't following, he stopped and then looked back with an askance, "Ain't you coming?"

Snapping out of his daze, Hayden followed immediately.

"Don't run away; Ben will deal with you people; Hayden, you will die of jealousy; I will never have anything to do with a violent man who hires thugs to go around and beat people up! I regret loving you." Lucia went off the handle when he saw that Hayden and Old Ye were leaving and started ranting.

Ben's legs gave way, and he fell to the floor with his buttocks, moaning in pain.

Seeing Ben's pig face, Lucia asked in concern while trying to help him up his feet, "Are you alright?"

Ben's pent anger from receiving merciless slaps exploded, and he pushed her away, shouting, "Do I look alright to you?"

Grimacing, he got up his feet angrily and then slapped Lucia's face. "Bitch, you hired your poor boyfriend to mess me up! I am going to make you regret knowing me."

Out of embarrassment, Ben vented his anger on Lucia because he knew he couldn't have any advantage against Old Ye at all.

After slapping Lucia, who stood shocked by the turnaround of the situation, Ben got into his car and drove away.

"Ben! Listen to me; I didn't invite Hayden to get into a fight with you." Running after the car, Lucia pleaded anxiously.

Old Ye, who had 'caused the crack in their relationship, was already on top of his bicycle at the company's security gate; earlier, he parked it there and decided to walk on foot; he didn't wish to make Hayden lose face.

"There is no need to follow me; I will be going to the market," Old Ye turned to Hayden and said smilingly.

He knew that after having ten million dollars as capital, Hayden had to sort out his thoughts, and being around him would naturally stop him from making his plans.

"Grandpa, you still want to sell vegetables?" Hayden asked, looking unhappy.

He was against the idea of the former Old Ye selling vegetables in the market.

"How is that possible? Going back there is to take debts," Old Ye retorted.

If an Emperor Dao like him sells vegetables, will they dare buy them? What a joke! He will never do such a thing.

After a brief talk, Old Ye rode his bicycle into the city wet market. With the former Old Ye's memories, he easily located the market.

The district where the wet market Old Ye sold vegetables was located in one of the poorest districts in the city. The government doesn't allow open street stalls or illegal tables in the city, but some corrupt officers used the poor district to upturn this law using the excuse that the poor occupants there couldn't afford the expensive store rents.

Arriving at the crowded market.

"Is that not Old Ye's bicycle?"

"Who is that young man?"
