Seeing all the bodyguards lying motionless on the floor, Manager Sam broke out in a cold sweat.
"What did you do to them? You killed them," he asked with a trembling voice.
A chill ran down his spine.
"Do you have the ability to seek an answer from this, Lord? I am not answerable to man, gods, and the heavens," Old Ye replied coldly as he took a step forward towards Manager Sam.
Manager Sam jumped back in fright, his legs trembling and his voice quivering as he warned, "Don't come close; you will be charged with murder! I am one of the Daniels people; if you dare touch me, you will remain imprisoned for life."
Hayden stood there in shock; the sight before him was inconceivable, and how Old Ye made all the bodyguards lay on the floor without moving was mysterious.
A crisp sound rang out, snapping him out of his thoughts. Turning his head, he saw how Manager Sam spun and then faced Old Ye.
"You have the guts to order your lackeys to beat up my grandson; was your brain fried before you were born?" Old Ye asked coldly with an expressionless face. Lifting his hand, he slapped Manager Sam's face once again.
Manager Sam spun around and stood before him; his face had undergone a visible transformation, nothing short of becoming a pig head.
"Even your kind want to threaten this Lord." Old Ye snorted and landed another slap that made Manager Sam fly tens of metres away, with his teeth and blood flying out of his mouth in mid-air.
Hayden watched with his eyes wide open and his jaw slack. The scene was what he mostly saw in the movie, but witnessing it in reality was too surreal. He felt a lingering fear when he looked at Old Ye.
"They are not dead," Old Ye responded nonchalantly; he knew what Hayden was thinking.
Pulling out the black card in his pocket, that was the reason he came to look for Hayden before he met him being encircled by Manager Sam's bodyguards.
"There are ten million dollars inside; take it; you can start whatever you want with it," Old Ye said, casually stretching the bank card towards Hayden.
He does not know the commercial structure of the current world; the technology and advancement of the world have long surpassed the immortal world he came from, in which occupations were mainly alchemists, hunters, and store owners, along with martial artists.
Hayden stiffened; it couldn't be helped; he had been too shocked by Old Ye's means, finishing off ten guards and Manager Sam single-handedly, and also handling over a card with a balance of ten million dollars.
"I was given the bank card by someone; I gave my pill to." Done talking, Old Ye put the bank card in Hayden's breast pocket and walked away.
With his temper, he had made a lot of sacrifices by explaining this little bit; if Hayden wasn't his grandson, he wouldn't have bothered explaining things to him.
When Hayden came back to his senses, Old Ye was already exiting the underground parking lot of the company.
"Grandpa," he called out hastily and chased after him.
Old Ye stood still, looking at the panting Hayden. He gave Hayden an askance look: "Grandpa, I can't take this bank card; this was given to you; I don't want to take advantage of you; I will work for my money; with my hands, I will raise my wealth." Hayden spoke solemnly with a deep voice.
Listening to Hayden's sincere proclamation, Old Ye was moved; he burst into laughter before saying, "Hahaha! You are truly my grandson; your fate is in your hands, and with your hands, you can only move the wind and topple the mountains. But take it as a loan to you; you will repay me when you have proven yourself."
Hayden's facial expression became serious; although he didn't want to use the money Old Ye gave him, he lacked the capital to start up any business.
He was determined, but not foolish, to reject such kindness.
He nodded deeply without saying a word.
"Let's leave," Old Ye said smilingly. He was satisfied with Hayden's attitude.
They barely took three steps when Old Ye furrowed his eyebrows, sensing Hayden's change of mood.
"Lucia!" Hayden called out, with a face filled with surprise.
Old Ye looked east and then saw a man and a lady holding hands. From the reaction of the lady, Old Ye knew that she was the one Hayden was referring to as Lucia.
"Is he the poor guy you were talking about? Not bad; he is very handsome. What a shame he is very poor and can't even buy you a trending model of phone," the young man holding Lucia's waist taunted Hayden.
Hayden has been in a relationship with Lucia for years; he even had the thought of marrying her, but his financial situation was very terrible, so he couldn't achieve it.
When Lucia heard he had been sacked and the possibility of him getting a new job was nill with the influence of the Daniels family hell-bent on making Hayden's life miserable, she hooked up with the current young man holding her waist.
"Lucia, why?" Hayden was so heartbroken that he could only come up with such a weak question, revealing his devastation.
Lucia's face became frosty; if Hayden was a little capable, she wouldn't have hooked up with a playboy like Ben. "You are asking me why? I will tell you why! I am tired of being in a relationship with someone who only gives a million excuses not to take care of me. I am sick of hearing you are saving for our wedding, and I am fucking tired of going on roadside treats as a date."
Hayden's face fell, and he couldn't keep silent while Lucia disparaged all his efforts over the years. He argued, "I spend all my savings on you; I gave you ninety per cent of my salary; what more do you expect me to do?"
"So what? Don't I deserve more for being your girlfriend?" Lucia retorted unreasonably.
Ben disrespectfully groped her buttocks before jeering, "Punk, thanks for keeping her intact for me; I have already taken it,"
A blatant provocation.
