Old Ye didn't know the concept of clothes making a man.
He was used to putting on a set of outfits for thousands of years in the immortal world.
A blank look creased his face as he looked at Jenny and John, clueless about what they were hinting at.
Realising that if she didn't explain properly, Old Ye wouldn't be aware that the set of clothes he was putting on was unacceptable.
"Grandpa, if you are going to put on that and take John to school, reaching the gate won't be impossible, but entering the school will be impossible. I doubt if you will even get to the gate before running back home in shame," Jenny said.
Jenny was speaking lightly about the issue. With what Old Ye is putting on, he will be mocked from the gate till he reaches the school; the tag of a madman is even more likely.
"I will go and change then," Old Ye responded; he wasn't long-winded.
Done speaking, he returned inside the house to change the dirty button shirt and the faded trousers.
The moment Old Ye left, Hayden came out of the house, looking dispirited.
"Brother, what happened? Are you not going to work today?" Jenny asked with a frown; she had never seen Hayden go to work late before.
"Nothing," Hayden responded swiftly and made his way towards the gate; he didn't want anyone to find out he had been sacked.
Jenny furrowed her eyebrows as she stared at Hayden's receding silhouette suspiciously.
"Big sister Jen, I think big brother Hayden is in trouble; should we tell Grandpa?" John asked, and after Old Ye's transformation, he found this new grandfather very impressive.
A pill given to them made them look a hundred times more handsome and beautiful. In John's heart, Old Ye is an existence liking to a god.
"We shouldn't," Jenny disagreed, shaking her head. She didn't want to meddle with Hayden's matters.
Old Ye came out of the house beaming with a smile. Although the white suit he was putting on was neat and clean, the quality was little to say. The pair of leather shoes he was wearing was the former Old Ye's favourite shoe.
The times the former Old Ye had worn them could be counted with five fingers.
Jenny and John stared at Old Ye with wide eyes and slack jaws. Although Old Ye after the transformation became very handsome, the dirty button clothes
and faded shoes didn't showcase his full beauty. But after putting on the new white suit, he could be best described as a beautiful god who has descended to Earth.
"How do I look?" Old Ye asked with a face filled with satisfaction. He found the suit interesting, which is why he selected it amongst all the old clothes in the former Old Ye's box. It couldn't be helped; the former Old Ye barely had enough to eat; buying clothing was a life of luxury for him.
"Grandpa, you look very handsome; I never thought anyone could be this handsome while putting on a suit," John responded sincerely. Although the words seemed to be fawning at Old Ye, there was no lie at all.
"Because your grandpa has never worn it before, since I have worn it, it is only natural for others to look inferior." Old Ye puffed out his chest and claimed the praise shamelessly.
"Let's go; we are already running late," Old Ye added.
John and Jenny didn't think Old Ye's words were overboard; John followed him immediately.
Old Ye and John walked to the backyard, where the bicycle Old Ye had fixed was leaning on the wall.
John rubbed his eyes, looking surprised. He was aware the bicycle parts and the tyres were stolen, and he wanted to tell the former Old Ye, who was sick then, about it, but he hid it, afraid that if he told the former Old Ye about the theft, he might die immediately from the shock.
Looking at the bicycle, which looked as good as new, he couldn't help but doubt if what he saw a few days ago was real.
"Why are you standing there and looking at me blankly? quickly get on the bicycle," Old Ye said impatiently. He was a little excited to ride a bicycle for the first time.
While John was staring at the bicycle blankly, Old Ye had already pulled it over.
Regaining his senses, John got on the bicycle's passenger seat.
Old Ye took a deep breath. With the former Old Ye's memories, he was able to gain knowledge of every part of the bicycle and how to ride one.
Having knowledge of how to ride a bicycle was different from knowing how to ride a bicycle.
The moment Old Ye paddled the bicycle forcefully, pulling the wheel forward, the bicycle lost balance and trembled.
"Careful, Grandpa!" John shrieked in fright.
Old Ye swiftly stabilised the bicycle and continued paddling forward, with the bicycle trembling from time to time.
When Jenny saw the situation, she was rendered speechless. She has always known her grandfather as a great biker, and the situation made her speculate.
Riding the bicycle out of the gate, Old Ye became proficient; he increased his speed of paddling, and a few minutes later he rode onto the busy road, ignoring traffic lights.
Even if he knows what those traffic lights are there for, with his temper as Emperor Dao, he doesn't take them to heart at all.
"You are crazy; do you think you have ten lives?" A driver who almost knocked down the pair of grandfather and grandson cursed in anger.
But all these curses didn't even get to Old Ye, who was speeding away with the bicycle. John's face was pale in fright; this was the first time he saw a bicycle running faster than a car.
"Grandpa, please slow down; if we continue like this, we will get into an accident." John persuaded fearfully; he had never been close to death like this before.
"Getting into an accident is impossible; alright, hold me tighter; we are going to go faster than before; don't be scared; with me here, no one can harm you," Old Ye said in a domineering manner, exuding an aura of sovereignty before gearing the bicycle forward.
