Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Are They Worthy?

"If you expect me to still be someone who would do nothing and allow every cat and dog in the street to walk over my head before I become your grandfather, then that is impossible. I am now a changed man; I will be someone whom dragons and lions will bow to; I will stand at the top of the world, and everyone will bow to me," Old Ye proclaimed arrogantly. He has the capital to be unbridled with his words.

With his temper as Emperor Dao, he had said too little.

Although Hayden was suspicious of the young man claiming to be his grandfather, he felt relieved that Old Ye's personality had changed.

He was very aggrieved at how his grandfather and sisters, along with his brothers and himself, were maltreated these past few years; they were tortured to the extent they couldn't even fight back, and the former Old Ye didn't have the intention to fight back even if they wished to.

"Those who try to ruin me will be doomed; those who favour me will be rewarded; and every debt will be paid accordingly to the debtor." Old Ye said icily.

He had already made up his mind to get rid of the Andersons and the Daniels for all they had done against the Ye family for the past years.

The more Hayden listened, the more he felt happy, but his face creased with a frown when he realised that they didn't have the capital to fight against their enemies; their enemies were too rich and well-connected to the extent of suffocating them.

It is by their grace that they are still alive; trying to fight back are they not incurring ridicule for themselves?

"I wish to fight back, but it isn't possible, Grandpa. I think we should just forget about it. As long as we are alive, if we move out of A-City, we could find a place to live where their influence won't be able to sway things," Hayden smiled bitterly and said.

Calling the young man his grandfather, Hayden has unknowingly acknowledged him.

Old Ye's face brightened; he didn't expect his few words to have already succeeded in convincing Hayden thoroughly of his status.

Retrieving a beauty pill from his storage ring, he placed it in Hayden's palm and then looked at him before saying, "There is no need for you to worry about how I am going to take care of those trash; we are not leaving A-city; rather, they will be the ones to run away from us."

Done speaking, Old Ye returned inside the house, leaving Hayden standing there holding the beauty pill in his palm.

Hayden stared at the beauty pill for some time before pocketing it and returning inside the house.

Old Ye didn't join them for dinner that night. He returned to his room and sealed the door. He sat down quietly in meditation and started sorting the former Old Ye's memories, his fists clenched tightly when he knew the atrocities and evil the aristocratic families had done against the Ye family and Old Ye.

Opening his eyes, he spat out fiercely, "Dying is an easy punishment for you all, you all deserve a fate worse than death!"

Old Ye was truly angered by the aristocratic families and also by the former Old Ye for being too weak and refusing to fight back.

"The former owner of this body is disappointing; he can't even fight back against those who ruin his goods in the market. What a timid fellow," Old Ye muttered under his breath.

He was very disappointed. It is reasonable if the former Old Ye couldn't fight back against those aristocratic families; being unable to fight against those who bully him in the marketplace is what disappointed Emperor Dao the most.

"Those bastards too; I won't forgive them either." Old Ye accounted for all those who wronged the former Old Ye.

He didn't have the intention of forgiving any of them.

In the room Old Ye was using to meditate, sunlight poured into the room through the window.

Old Ye's eyes snapped open, and he flicked his finger, removing the seal he had placed at the door.

Humming a song, he walked out of the room with his hands behind his back. He has so many plans today, and one of them is sending John to school. The former Old Ye was the one who always took his last grandchild to school.

But to Old Ye's surprise, he saw John chatting with Jenny in the living room; he didn't look like someone who was preparing to go anywhere.

"Why are you not preparing to go to school?" Old Ye asked unhappily.

The thought of showing off his grandson to the world was in tatters. How can he still be happy?

"Grandpa, I don't want to go back to that school; I won't kneel and apologise to anyone." John refused vehemently; he looked like a lion whose tail had been trampled on.

Old Ye's face darkened when he heard what John said.

He rummaged through the former Old Ye's memories and realised the reason John refused to go to school.

John was the most bullied pupil in school, for being poor and also for being Ye. After suffering quietly for years, John erupted when the class bully tore all his books and soaked them in water, so he got into a fight with his class bully.

When the matter was brought before the principal, John was judged as a criminal and suspended from school. Unless he kneeled and apologised to his class bully in the morning devotion, he wouldn't be allowed to continue schooling.

With Daniels as the owner of the school, it is not surprising that everything turned out that way.

"Good grandson, are they worthy to make you kneel and bow? Those who will make you kneel and bow are not yet born." Old Ye praised wholeheartedly.

He thought the former Old Ye's grandchildren were cowards like the former owner of the body, he was really glad that they weren't.

John looked at the new Old Ye with a face filled with shock. The day his grandfather heard that he fought in school, he was scolded by the former Old Ye, and his grandfather even agreed to the school authority's biased punishment.

If the former Old Ye hadn't fallen sick, he would have been persuaded to kneel and apologise to his class bully a long time ago.

Hearing the new Old Ye's words, he was very surprised.
