Chapter 9 - New Wetherden: Part 3

The sun shined down through the many cracks and holes in the ceiling and walls. Johan looked around and sighed when he realized what mess he just created. The grand door loudly creaked, and pieces fell off it as it opened. He turned around with his sword at the ready. Blick's eyes widened as he saw the body and blood. He rushed over to Johan.

"My King! Are you alright?" Blick asked.

"Oh yeah. Not even a scratch on me." Johan casually said.

Blick reached his hand out and let out a yelp and stepped back. Johan quickly looked over and a disgusted look appeared. The corpse began rising slowly. Johan ran over to the body and before he could slash it down, an extremely powerful Gravity Energy attack pushed him back. The head started to regenerate. The right eye was golden, and the left was red.

"I will NOT be snuffed out by the likes of you mortals ANYMORE!" a different voice shouted from Felix's body.

"Who are you?" Johan asked.

"I am Kayotic. The last God of the Old Faith." Kayotic said, "Well, you have proven yourself to be stronger than I anticipated. I will not hold back."

Johan and Blick got in a defensive stance as they prepared for battle. Kayotic yelled in pain as four tail-like whips extended from his back. The tips of the whips were extremely sharp and along the sides of them were many thorns and barbs. He had complete control over each one. He swung all of them wildly, slicing through the air and cutting anything in their path. The god held out his hand and manifested a sword and wielded it in his right hand. He swung it with incredible precision and deadly force. Johan parried his attacks and Blick tried to attack from a different angle, but the whips wouldn't let him get close. Blick decided to use magic. Kayotic slowly sank into the floor and his whips froze in the air. Johan's sword inched closer and closer.

"With this struggle, I summon thee, ALMIGHTY!" Kayotic shouted.

A beast crawled out of the floor. This one was different. It was much bigger, and it had scales over its body. It attacked Johan and distracted him. Kayotic turned his attention towards Blick. He raised his hand and shot a blast of pure Energy towards him. Blick barely had enough time to dodge, but his arm was cut off in the process. Blick yelled in pain and clutched at his wound. His clothes were tattered and covered in blood. Kayotic walked towards him, with all four tails pointed at Blick. Johan tried to finish the beast quickly, but his sword wouldn't hurt it.

'What do I do?' Johan thought, 'The Prison Dome can target multiple things at once, but it might hit Blick too. The more enemies the better, but if there is an ally in there... If only my damn sword worked against this creature!'

'Can we beat a God?' Blick thought, 'No, no we probably can't.'

"How did Felix lose to you weak mortals?" Kayotic mocked.

Johan looked at Blick.

"Prison Dome." Johan said.

'What is this?' Blick thought.

Kayotic looked around in confusion. He looked over to the beast and saw it crumbling before him. The god raised his hand and gathered Energy to shoot at the barrier. His face changed when the Energy left his body.

"How?" Kayotic asked in fear, "What is this?"

"A technique I created with pure Energy. It steals any Energy output the others try to use." Johan said, "I'm glad that creature was made with Energy, now this will be super easy!" Johan laughed.

"You dare mock me?" Kayotic asked angrily.

"Don't worry Blick, you are safe here." Johan said.

"Sever." Johan said.

The god flinched in pain as the tails were cut off at the base. The sword he created has been absorbed by the dome. He ran at Johan, and they started fist fighting. They circled each other as they threw punches at each other. Johan was swift and precise, while Kayotic was brute and angry. The mad god would tank the hits, while Johan managed to dodge all of his hits.

"The dome splits the Energy it takes from the enemy and gives me some portion of it." Johan explained.

Kayotic didn't stop throwing his fist. He became slower and less accurate. Johan had a giant smile on his face.

"This body is not as strong as mine! Curse the human blood!" Kayotic shouted.

"Sever." Johan said

Felix screamed in pain as his arms were cut off. Johan's eyes widened when he realized he left his son to die.

"Burst." Johan said, "Collapse."

He rushed over to Blick but was surprised to see him completely fine. All his wounds were healed, even his arm. His armor and clothes were completely torn and broken. Blick knelt down in front of him.

"Thank you, my King." Blick said.

"Sure." Johan said.

"I'm glad you arrived just in time." Blick said, standing up.

"Me too. What the hell happened? Your letter made it seem like your people were dying." Johan asked.

"They were. My... friend fixed the city and fed the people." Blick said.

"What's wrong with your eye?" he asked.

"That's my friend. It's hard to explain." Blick said.

"I see. I'm sad to say but it looks like your father has passed. Do you know where your siblings are?" he asked.

"In the capital. They will return once everything is done." Blick said.

"Should we inform them of their father's passing?" Johan asked.

"No, they'll find out soon enough." Blick said.

"Anyway, my army will remain here, but I have to return. Among the ranks is Captain Harold Briri. I'll have him talk to you before they decide it's time to leave. I'll also find your siblings and send them over after I receive a letter from you saying it is safe to return. They will stay in the palace." Johan said.

"How many men did you bring?" Blick asked.

"I wasn't sure of what to expect so I brought two thousand." Johan said.

"One more thing: burn Felix's body. Actually, I'll do that. I'll be seeing you." Johan said, picking up the corpse and walking out of the hall.
