Whatever fate awaited her, she sent her prayers to the Goddess to watch over Daemond. To watch over the baby in her belly. And for Navaell.
When she finished, Annica heard a low voice from behind her that made her heart beat faster.
"Are you praying for me, my wife?" Daemond asked.
My wife. The name by which he called her now. The words sent a thrill through Annica every time she heard them, a reminder of what had happened between them.
She turned and found him standing by the door, smiling, his eyes filled with affection.
Annica smiled back, her heart lightening at the sight of him.
