"Daemond!" Annica called out. "Daemond, open the door, please. Let me in."
Octavianus opened the door. Annica could see that the man's forehead was cut and bleeding. A scratch ran across the man's chest, tearing the thick coat he wore.
"Daemond? What about Daemond?" Annica called over and over again. It seemed to be the only sentence left in her mind.
Octavianus shook his head, "Go away, Annica. He's not- Hey! Annica!"
Annica pushed Octavianus with her shoulder and slipped inside.
Daemond was sitting in his chair, his shoulders slumped, his head bowed, dirty with mud and blood.
Hearing Annica's arrival, the man looked up. Cuts and scratches were seen all over his irritated face, and Annica's panic could no longer be hidden.
"Oh, my Goddess!" Annica exclaimed with widened eyes.
She ran to the washing basin and dipped the towel into the water. She wrung the rough cloth dry before bringing it over to Daemond.
