Daemond's words, even when spoken calmly, hurt Brianna like a slap. She felt herself flushing.
How could he say something like that? After everything that she had done. After all her loyalty, her willingness to be his sex toy, after all her love.
How could Daemond compare her to Annica? A slave none the least.
Tears began to well in Brianna's eyes. But she bit her tongue and held herself from spilling them. Daemond hates tears. Making the General angrier at that moment wasn't wise.
Brianna lowered her gaze and swallowed.
"I have made a mistake," she said in a defeated voice. "Forgive me, General."
There was some silence in the air after that. The only sound heard was her breath filling the chamber.
