As the ladies gossiped, the guests for Ba Susan alighted from the carriage, revealing who they were.
Ba Susan was already outside, wearing a fawning expression and anyone could see that whoever this person was, it was someone of greater importance.
"Sir, welcome to our humble village!" Ba Susan respectably welcomed the man dressed in silk in front of him.
The man smiled kindly at Ba Susan, as he responded, "Thank you. Your village is thriving!" and praised him sincerely.
Since he saw the better part of the village from the maid road until here, he felt very satisfied with the village. It didn't look as backwards as what other people always said.
Although he was the councilor, he barely went around to check the villages. The villagers came to him and not the other way around.
He was recruited from the city. So how could he know the happenings in the villages?
