"Hm!?"
Seeing the enemy charging toward his gate alone, the defensive commander on top of the high wall frowned and immediately retreated to the cover of his trusted aides.
Without flying troops or siege machinery, a Low-Order Lord attacking a city would, no matter what, find it impossible to bypass the wall.
But now the enemy, without constructing siege ladders or any other machinery, was charging toward the gate by himself.
What did this mean?
It meant the enemy was extremely confident, capable of slaying generals and capturing flags, even breaching the city single-handedly.
Such a person, if not a solo-act lord, would be a combat hero, with exceptional martial power.
To avoid being decapitated, the defensive general quickly retreated, and simultaneously shouted an order: "Release the arrows!"
"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!"
