Several tens of days later, this place had become scarcely visited by people.
Pei Jinye was here not for any other reason than for the fierce creatures of this place; he needed more of the native surveillance.
At a gesture,
a Giant Eagle flew over.
As it landed, it stirred up a great cloud of dust.
Its huge head affectionately rubbed against Pei Jinye's arm.
"It seems we haven't seen each other for quite some time," Pei Jinye said, smiling softly.
The Giant Eagle suddenly froze.
It turned its head to look back.
A huge Demon Ape emerged from the forest, its fierce and malevolent gaze fixed on the man and bird.
"Roar!"
The Demon Ape let out an angry roar, as if it wanted to devour the Giant Eagle.
The Giant Eagle spread its wings, instinctively counter-attacking.
The two fought to a standstill.
"Come back," Pei Jinye beckoned.
The Giant Eagle turned its head towards him and circled back in flight.
