Using binoculars, Maya observed the range of hills which were almost devoid of trees, exposing huge rocks with slopes nearly vertical. Maya answered honestly, "You will."
Lin Wu asked, "What about the backup plan?"
Maya said, "Circle back to the east side of Fantasy City, build a sea-bound sailboat, travel from the river to the sea, and then by sea to the coastal highway."
"A big project."
"Indeed." But the step of circling back to Fantasy City was something that neither she nor Lin Wu could accept. For nearly half a month, the two had encountered countless difficulties and dangers, and had supported each other to get to this point.
Maya said, "The last resort, let's just run with it." Treat this road as if it were Highway 99—it was the only viable plan. Therefore, whether this road was Highway 99 or not, Lin Ma had to follow it.
