Maya released the armrest of the chair and slowly stood up, "Keep it down." Although the zombies within a 15-meter radius had been cleared, the sound of breaking glass would definitely carry beyond that distance. Maya's plan was to attract zombies, if necessary, but keep them within the 15-meter radius to prevent the glass from respawning.
Why not take the stairs? One could exit through the fire door, but upon climbing the stairs, they would find the door locked. It was a metal door, bound with chains and padlocked, with additional locks added at the top and bottom. These locks were beyond Lin Wu's picking abilities, and required an Agility sub-skill, "Lock Picking" to be opened.
Lin Wu speculated that some bad people had discovered that the senior executives on the 27th floor wanted to escape on their own and hence had locked the door.
