However, after the Exploding Carnage were successively blown apart, the twenty or so Frenzy from the rear ranks of the zombies immediately began their attack, launching themselves at Nightmare and Maya from three directions. Nightmare and Maya burst-fired at two more Exploding Carnage before quickly retreating toward the triangular formation, with Snow Egg, Cotton, and Horse Soul providing covering fire. The Frenzy, like charging cavalry, kept falling to the ground in the hail of bullets, but the remaining ones charged forward without hesitation.
To avoid friendly fire, two Frenzy that were in a direct line with Nightmare and Maya got close, and Lin Wu shouted, "Maya."
Maya turned and fell backward, emptying her magazine. Not only did she dodge the Frenzy's dive, but she also sent it flying to one side. Horse Soul seized the opportunity for a close-range burst-fire to send another Frenzy flying.
