As the winter countdown commenced, Dawn launched the end-of-season activity: the second expedition to Waste City.
After the first expedition concluded, scientists, politicians, and the Fungus Side convened a meeting at the island headquarters, where scientists proposed the idea to excavate green devices. The massive population of zombies in Waste City was the first issue they needed to face. Since humanity did not have much time left, a General suggested a direct nuclear strike to clear out the zombies from Waste City.
Although this would contaminate Waste City, humanity could not afford to worry about that now, and it was imperative to excavate the green devices as quickly as possible to develop a long-term, reliable vaccine.
